Games are going to be like this all year. There is no magic switch for the bats to "come alive". Pitching and defense will carry the team and hopefully we'll scratch out enough runs to win.

They are probably the worst offensive team we will face in the SEC with all the players they have hurt, yet we still are getting out hit by them.
I think we have enough talent to hit enough for our starting pitching, but we have a God awful mental approach at the plate right now that is making us look way worse than we are talent wise. This is the job of the coaching staff to correct, so we can at least put more pressure on the opposing pitching/defense.

How do you put pressure on the pitcher/defense with no power and no speed?
About the only thing you can do is take a bunch of walks, but ofcourse our fans cry when they take strikes.

I think it started when Mainieri chastised the bats and I think it sunk in with the hitters. Then he went bunt happy last year which I think showed lack of trust toward his hitters. Confidence is big in BB.

It's still early....I'm happy to get the series win.....and I'm not ready to throw in the towel on the offense just yet, it's a long season and we just gotta give the lineup time to find its groove
I'm most excited about winning 2 one-run games....something that basically kept us out of postseason play last year single-handedly
I know missST is no Florida, but this series reminds me of last years Florida series....and we actually got the wins this year...,hopefully we can build some confidence in these first two sec series and put ourselves in a nice position standings-wise going into the meat of our schedule

Good game. Bats need to wake up and still shaky relief pitching. Can't have your closer giving up runs.
