What are y’all mad about? Guy was undrafted. At least he gets a chance. They could have just given him the Snickers bar.

Never trust a guy with a nose like that.

He’s not going to sign. The Brewers are pretending that he has an undiagnosed injury and are low balling him to assume less risk.

I know this is the rant and people like to act as if they’re something they’re not, but I have a very wealthy friend in Milwaukee that owns every parking garage downtown. He says he’s not coming.

I'll believe it when I see it as the clock strikes midnight going into Saturday.

Regardless, you boys enjoy your Fourth. I'm sure we won't hear anything close to official until the two days following

I’m enjoying it already and my buddy from Milwaukee has made me super optimistic. My wife asks can we stop talking about LSU baseball? Our son is three

That is hilarious (in a good way) buddy owns almost every parking garage in downtown Milwaukee and says it is looking good for college. Hey, if it's true that the Brewers brought up anything about some mystery injury to lowball Brice (I can only hope that is true) that is interesting. IMO your Not going to lowball this kid, not with his family and the education stance. In any case, just interesting to hear this.

The Brewers jus signed their 12th round pick for 85k over slot. Not a huge deal but interesting. 85k less they can give Turang.
i thought slot only mattered for the top 10 rounds with how much they can pay him?

I’ve posted before about his family and that Brice is unique in that he isn’t desperate for money. A lot of kids sign for money. Brice won’t. He’s independently wealthy. Or I should say his family is. So is my son. You’re welcome, kid. Many people tell me he’s a great athlete. Get that degree.

Brice is a great baseball player and with a year or so of getting bigger a stronger (muscle weight) the sky is the limit for him. He would be the major missing part to LSU's infield if he does make it to campus. Fingers crossed.

From the twitter

quote:

Brewers people are saying it's a toss-up whether first-round Draft pick Brice Turang signs or goes to LSU. "There's nothing to report," said GM David Stearns, who woudn't even say if the sides were negotiating. Signing deadline is Friday.

If they do any more of these then the writing is on the wall. It’s hard to not look at this as good news. I’m not sure why they wouldn’t offer every penny they can with the deadline a week away

Round 11-40 has a slot value of 125k each pick. Anything over has to come from your top 10 pick savings. If not, it would be free agency and a kid drafted in round 11 would be more likely to sign then a kid drafted in round 1

as a player you probably have more leverage waiting until the very last minute to even begin negotiating

Looks like the @Reese_Olson1 signing was at least $440k. More Turang intrigue as a result.

IT’S A DONE DEAL DAMNIT

This means the absolute max they can offer right now is 3.6m. They’ve used 400k in overslot money to sign guys yesterday. Again, pretty telling
