HYPOTHETICALLY, if LSU lost to GA next weekend, OKST won big, and VT lost could OKST jump to 1, LSU 2 and BAMA 3? Since LSU beat Bama head to head and Bama did not even win the division nor the conference and OKST wins their conference outright, then OKST and LSU would be the two best 1 loss teams in the country?
may be dumb, but just thinking!

Have you not been reading matt's threads??? Since all the craziness has happened he has said nothing but Alabama has the best chance at a rematch. He has pointed out the ways that okie state can get in, but hasn't said Okie state WILL jump bama.

Take your gump arse somewhere else. There is no messing with lsumatt's services here. Gtfo

There was nothing joke about it. You are making stuff up on the SEC rant so you have ammo that says "lsumatt is wrong" when in fact I have never said such a thing.

It's hard to make a guy seem wrong when he lays out EVERY possible scenario like all the talking heads do. Eventually one of them will pan out.

nope. all I ever said was that OSU needs a minimum of 25% of votes and that seems feasible.

Not quite sure this is ALL you have said but I will take your word for it right now. Tired of arguing. Lets get back to talking the BCS.

Gump, he's not laying out EVERY possible scenario to come back and say that he was right. He's laying out every scenario so we can have a better understanding of what the results will be if each different case happens.

Guys. Me and Matt are big boys. We can talk ourselves without help or attacks from other posters. I think we're both ready to get back to discussing the BCS now.

OK. Plain and Simple. If Okie St. beats OU they jump Bama.

I wish it was that plain and simple PJ, but I doubt it will be that easy.

Either way LSU beats BOTH rather easy. I would rather play Bama and shut them up. I think LSU would win by 2 tds at least this time.

My mostly-uninformed guess is that had Stanford lost, and Va Tech lost/loses next week, a win over OU would've put OSU in extremely close proximity with Bama.

B/c the margin seems to be so razor thin, Okie cannot afford to split hardly any #3 votes with anyone else (while still getting a decent share of the #2 votes) - b/c Stanford didn't lose, I'm not sure the votes will be there for Okie, regardless of what happens in the OSU/OU and Va Tech/Clemson game.

How do you factor that the voters a sagarin and shite don't think that Bama had their chance already.

You are so stupid. You really are the worst poster on this board right now. Your problem isn't that you have differing opinions or a different agenda than others. It is that you refuse to differ between realities and hypotheticals.

It is a reality that Oklahoma St is passing Bama in the computers. That is predictable because the computer formula is already set. It is also a reality that Oklahoma St gets in if they get 25 percent of 2nd place votes(assuming all other votes are third).

It is conjecture to speculate on how the humans will vote because humans are not as predictable as computers. LSUMatt and all other intelligent posters on here have said that from the beginning. You seem to be the ONLY one who can't understand the difference.

Ok, what do you want to discuss?

1. Virgina Tech and Stanford have no shot - I have conceded that

2. Ok State needs to win and have Virginia Tech lose to have any realistic shot - Va Tech is/would likely steal too many votes

3. If Ok State can blow out OU, it might prevent voters from putting the Pac12 North runners up in front of Ok State, in which case Ok State only needs a little over 25% of voters of to put them above Bama. Since it appears that ~10% already don't have Bama #2, that at least seems feasible. If Stanford can wedge there way in a couple of polls, it becomes more difficult.

4. Voters DO have a history of changing their mind at the last minute. In 2006, lots of voters flipped Florida and Michigan. In 2007, LSU was ranked below the likes of Georgia and Virgina Tech and were even #7 in the BCS. LSU jumped all the way to #2 when most of the teams above them sat at home and didn't lose.

Conclusion: Ok State is a long shot, but wouldn't count them out. You, Bama Nation, and many of the talking heads think Bama is a "lock". They are not.

Okie certainly will get some #2 votes - I just think it would've been close even if they were the only 1-loss team in contention with Bama. Since they won't be, I just don't think they'll get enough. And for every #4 vote Okie gets, they need an extra #2 vote to counter it.

But what do I know? I can't think of an instance off the top of my head, but I've probably been wrong before at sometime in my life

Yeah, I have no idea what he is talking about. I said 11-1 OU would likely go over Bama but of course OU won't finish 11-1. Otherwise, I have never said Bama was out.

IMO the biggest thing to notice from this weeks poll is what happened in the AP poll.

YES...I am aware that the AP poll is not in the BCS...

HOWEVER, the AP Poll jumped an idle OSU up to number 3 this week. This along with a OSU win provides the coaches with what they need to change their votes...COVER. With the AP poll solidly placing OSU at 3 the coaches can change there polls without worrying about the media crying foul over it.

It will still take a bit of shenanigans to have OSU leap Bama.
