I think 2013 has the edge at 3B, SS, 1B, C and in the bullpen. If Jones lives up to the hype, then the expectation is LeMahieu type production (mid .300s BA with a handful of homers). That said, 2009 was so much better in the OF and Coleman was not human.

What's interesting is the 08' team made a deep run into the postseason and was relatively young ala the 12' team last year. Breaking it down further the 09' reloaded around a strong nucleus with the likes of (Nola, Mahtook, Ott etc...) as this years squad reloads with (Bregman, Ibarra, LaMarche etc...)again surrounded by a strong nucleus.

That 09' team was absolutely loaded at the plate, it wouldn't even be fair to compare the two.

I do think even with the loses of Nola, Hanover, Gausman, and Goody that the 13' team is better than the 12' team. Raph Rhymes and Mason Katz are two of the top hitters in the nation, it doesn't hurt that they're both seniors. Ross and Jones are two rising stars and throw in Bregman who should be the top freshman in the SEC this year. Moore is only going to get better. Surround those guys with speed in Sciambra, Laird, and Ibarra and you have a formidable lineup.

With all due respect to your scouting abilities, what's interesting is the following...

Given the bat changes between 2009 and 2012, I thought 2012 Ross was better than 2009 Gibbs.

In 2009, Gibbs hit .294, 6 HR, 42 RBI, 43 BB, 52 SO.
Last year, Ross hit .292, 3 HR, 41 RBI, 22 BB but only 23 SO.

In 2009, Gibbs fielding % was .989. He threw out 31.4% of runners. Allowed 4 PB.
Last year, Ross' fielding % was .994. He threw out 40% of runners and allowed only 2 PB.

Stats aren't everything.

I remember one of the pitchers. I think it was Ott saying something like during his first game or one of his first games he was struggling and he looked towards home plate and gibbs was doing the chicken dance. he settled down and had a great season from that point on.

Although I feel really bad for this kid, he was drafted in the first, like what, 10 picks? You can't leave that kind of money on the table. It's just not financially responsible.

He was the 9th overall selection of the San Diego Padres and turned down a tad over 2.1 million.

Pretty bad, thats why I've liked Crawford over Whitson. Whitson can't stay healthy. He draft stock is toast.
