Thanks Adam, can you tell me a little more about Glenn? I know he was well regarded coming out of HS in Houston, does he have a chance to turn into a starter?
Also, I know you haven't profiled the SPs yet, but with only one mid week game for most of the season, do you think Maineri will stick with one guy, or use it as an opportunity to try out a bunch of different arms, especially against teams like Nichols and Mississippi Valley state, etc.
Thanks man, love reading your previews!

Thanks as always Adam, preview is great as usual.
Was Eades our guy last year that always seemed to throw a scoreless game until the 5th or so and then get touched up for a big inning? Hoping things will be different this year

Glenn wasn't needed last year in the rotation and was brought up slowly. He's a special talent and the more innings he starts to work the more comfortable Glenn will settle in. He's still in the run for that third spot this year, but if not I see one of two things happening
1)Midweek Starter
2)Second guy out of the pen.
You bring up a great point. I do think Mainieri will stick with one guy in the midweek for a majority of the year. Lately he's seemed to pick out a freshman to groove for a starting role.

Is this because you don't have enough information yet on Barash, or do these 5 legitimately have more estimated talented than he does?

Right now I have Barash at 6.

Yeah the senior class doesn't really jump off the page as far as high draft potential. But then again, if they did have that potential, they likely wouldn't be here.
On the other hand, the junior class is pretty staaaaacked.

Even if Eades, Jones, Ross, & LaMarche, all leave, LSU could still field the following for 2014:
C - Chinea/Barash
1B - Moore
2B - Ibarra
SS - Bregman
3B - Foster
OF - Stevenson, Sciambra, Laird, & McMullen
RHP - Nola, Newman, Sewald, & Rumbelow
(see also Broussard, Butler, Fury, & Reynolds)
LHP - Glenn & Devall
Might want a new infielder and a couple of new pitchers, but other than that, it looks like a decent foundation, although the losses of Jones & Ross would seriously hurt the batting lineup in such a hypothetical.
