he's a really good fielder. i've seen him make some very difficult plays already. however last saturday he had a ball smoked at him and he couldnt come up with it. then right after that he had another ball hit at him. this time not nearly as hard but hit right on the grass/dirt lip and took a nasty hop on him. rough 2 minutes for him although neither were exaclty errors.

woah. that seems like pretty impressive numbers, higher than I expected. I don't know anything about him so this is really the first I'm reading, but I like what I'm seeing.
My ratings are in comparison to other college players around him. Christian was basically a no one coming out of high school but he's polished him game up quite a bit. If he doesn't get overwhelmed playing in the big environment of Alex Box (something he hasn't done a whole lot) he'll more than impress.

interesting that you say his arm is nowhere short of spectacular, but grade it 65/80 , why's this?
Posted on 2/5/13 at 12:23 pm to Pilot Tiger
For his stature. I don't normally give out 80's or even 75's unless they're off the charts.

Tomorrow is when the real fun starts, who does Adam pick in the OF

Well considering Mainieri has already said it will be Rhymes, Sciambra, Laird...

I think these were the only 70+'s from last year...

Damn. I did not realize that.
It's an exciting time for freshmen like Bregman & Laird.

he said this? I figured it was a foregone conclusion since they've both been running with the starters for several weeks now but i didnt realize he announced it.

Thought that's what he said in the tiger rag radio interview someone posted here a couple weeks ago.
Posted on 2/5/13 at 1:42 pm to Broski
the media day interview? if so no he didnt say that.
tigerrag posted a portion of his media day interview so i do believe that is what you are referencing.

I'm going to list Laird, Stevenson, and McMullen as the third starter tomorrow. I don't think the RF is set in stone with a week and half left.
