obviously you don't think it's just as flat out stupid to think JL would have any success against Bama.
JL was FAR more consistent during his starting tenure in 2011 than JJ was. FAR MORE.

But, even if you thought JL would struggle too, that doesn't negate having to KNOW JJ was DEFINITELY going to struggle.

Hence, even if you thought both had little chance, that would STILL be a reason to be prepared to try BOTH of them.

Going into the game banking on JJ along was just retarded and here's the thing. I don't think Miles is retarded. Hence, his reasons for not giving JL a shot in games after 5 Nov were shite.

You are flat out stupid to think that there wasn't a chance for him to make a couple of plays in the game. Your post history doesn't give much insight into critical thinking.

He is still the best coach in the land, if you ask me.
Obviously, calling ANYONE the best coach in the land is a matter of opinion but really, I gotta ask what you based this statement on?

I mean, yes, the guy has won a bunch and yes, he OBVIOUSLY is a hell of a recruiter.

But, and this is a big BUT, he has also had some of the largest gameday coaching brain farts I've ever witnessed. He's a collector of such gems.

Speaking for myself, I find it baffling because it can't be denied that for the most part, he prepares his team well. It can't be denied that for the most part, he develops a team with a never quit attitude. He has many positive attributes which frankly, makes his brain farts seem like weird out of body experiences. But dayum, he has a lot of em.

He made a poor decision.

the poor decision he made occured from the start of the season when he relied on the run and coservative passes to overpower teams that we could overpower, which was everyone we met except Alabama. A verticle passing game is riskier because more can go wrong and you may lose to a team you could have just ran over. Doesn't matter, you still need a fully developed veriticle passing game for those teams that you just can't overpower. This is the lesson that Miles needs to learn from this season. Next season we have the QB's that can impliment that concept.

CYA. The only thing that happened at the 'back end of the season' was Miles' stubborn refusal to let JL do anything but take Victory snaps.

This. Miles has been lying to the fans for how many years now when he is questioned about playcalling or why some players aren't used?

I wish I could trust that he means what he is saying now but I think he is throwing the fanbase a bone.

I think he still needs a great OC to be considered the best. After watching the game Monday, I can't say Miles is with a straight face. I would probably still want him over anyone else though, providing he can still learn, improve and correct mistakes.

I would put Miles in the top five. Definitely. But I don't think you can say he is the best after the NCG.

ShortyRob actually posted a lot of positive about Miles this year. Unlike some who used the BCSCG to validated their comments all year, I'd been OK with Miles until the cluster frick that is JJ came back.

Miles full quote in TP this morning: "offensively, graduating two quarterbacks, there will be a definite shift in philosophy, an opportunity to be more balanced, pass-run combination, than we were in the back end of the season." If Miles learned anything from the BCSNC I hope it's this. Even Alabama knows you have to throw the ball downfield early and often at this level of football. I guess they really did have that little faith in the QB duo this season.

he's always wanted to be balanced. he didn't have the qb's to be. now he does.

some people don't want to admit the above.

"LSU is bigger than whoever their coach is".

Like Curly Hallman or Mike Archer or Jerry DiNardo(who wasn't that bad really). Don't kid yourself, we need top level coaching to be successfull.

Apparantly that's what he believed, I don't really think he gave it much of a chance though.

What you quote from me is reference Miles piss poor display of character with his handling of JL. It is NOT a denigration of his ability to coach.

even if you believe Lee was a better QB, we were still a run first team with Lee at QB.

Nothing wrong with run first. I LIKE run first offenses.

Problem is, with JJ, not a soul on opposing teams believed play action was a threat. NOT A SOUL!!!

Our offense didn't look too bad at all stats and winnin before JJ started again. We had a decent game managing QB and Zack On the Bench. We shouldn't have ever had this problem, oh except for our coach being so in love with a kid who was pretty louzy all his years at LSU. Lee was always bailing him out last year, to give us some energy and mix up. JJ was the most frustrating QB we have ever had in recent memory.
