Stating the obvious, The OL HAS to protect Johnson. If he goes down, LSU is toast.

kinda was a reason a lot of people were going with Max, because the line couldn't pass block. lol

Next your going to tell they can't run as many designed running plays due to lack of qb depth! Can we get this guy a direct line to O's office?!

Situation was worse under Brennan - he’s got concrete blocks for feet.

Go watch the link that was posted yesterday with all of Johnsons highlights. Dude was running for his life in 40% of the plays. The OL was straight garbage last year. Hoping they turn it around.

The line should be above average with surprise starters or not. Just gotta hope---just like w/Jeaux---that somebody doesn't go "Rock Em' Sock Em' Robots" on him when he decides to run.

But we have 5 + year long college players returning all over the OL and team. Should easily win every game with all this experience

Completely false. Brennan made throws on the run and had to scramble away from pressure constantly. He doesn’t run as well as Max but this narrative that he stood there in clean pockets to rack up yardage is 100% false. The Missouri game was just replayed on SEC Net, Brennan’s first 2 TDs he got clobbered, one he was outside of the pocket escaping the rush and he made another 17 yard strike on a dead sprint scramble, all in his first 10 pass attempts.

Then how was "Lead Foot Brennan" passing for all those yards in the first few games, prior to his injury?
Wasn't Brennan one of the national leaders in passing yards, before his injury.
Something doesn't compute.

Nah I don’t think they have to protect him. They really just need to stand still and let defenders go by them all game long

Please don’t try to tell us Max is another Lamar Jackson or Fran Tarkington.
He is not.
He is more mobile than Brennan.

Ms State
Vandy
Missouri

Those aren’t what you would call corner stone defenses of the SEC.
