This is just silly. It's 2019. If you want to be good you have to score points.

LSU's scoring offense ranked 37th. It got a huge boost from a 7 OT game.

If you go by points that the offense scored and offense scored only i.e. not pick sixs etc we were closer to 27 points per game (also if you remove the overtimes)

LSU's scoring defense on the other hand is 26th, and that's including a 7 OT game - without that game -
and without a pick six and two fumbles in the redzone that led to field goals when the defense got stops - the defense actually only gave up 15 points per game which puts them in the top 5.

Punchline - without the Texas A&M debacle - which never should have gone to OT -

Our defense is top 5 and offense is 40+ most of season

I'll even edit one more time to state this - there aren't 20, much less 39 teams that have better position groups across the board than we do on offense.

I think the redzone will improve by default.

Just having a better RB back there will help, but we still need to be a team that can do more than try and push our way in, once we get inside 10 yards.

19 should beat Florida.

You do realize that Florida ranks higher than LSU in every offensive major statistical category, right?

Defense gave up over 200 yards rushing and over 40 of those yards to a non running QB.

In addition to the offense being shite vs UF and Bama, it was almost equally as bad against Miss St as it was against Bama.

LSU averaged 3.27 yards per play vs Bama and 3.32 yards per play vs Miss St. We made four FGs and scored 1 TD. Our lone TD came because Divinity picked the ball off and ran down to the Miss St 3. We ran 3 straight times from 3 yards out to score a TD.

Thank God our defense was so damn great and Fitz was so terrible.

I was just saying out of the options of the games the OP said, that’s the only game with any sort of validity to it.

No, it wasn't. Offense was good enough to win maybe 4 games.

Defense was good enough for a NC, but the defense was wasted by an inept offense.

our offense was rated 11th best in the country for the 2018 season by one of the more highly regarded computer ranking services (it takes into account the quality of the defenses we played against among other factors). While I thought that was a little high (I would have expected more around 18th) still I respect the unbiased analysis of the computer ranking and thus am even more impressed on what Ensminger has been able to accomplish considering all that we had to deal with as our new OC.

wouldn't surprise me at all to see the offense do even better in 2019

Do you mean 2018? Or is that computer predicting the future

Link?

Because we are top 15 in almost any statistical catagory.
