Of all the bball players who declared for the NBA, only 1 SHOULD go now

And that one, imo, is...
Tremonte Waters.
Here's why I say that. All the others - including Naz Reid - could either increase their stock by another at LSU or just aren't good enough to make an NBA squad yet.
Waters - he's at his peak and should go now. Another year at LSU won't help his stock. He's a top 50 pick and then maybe a role player in the NBA or maybe a journeyman. Either way, another year at LSU does not help. Should go. Will go.
Reid - while I think he will definitely go and be a top 50 pick, I think if he stayed and improved with another year in the SEC and the post-season, he could maybe be a top 15 or 20 pick - and make a WHOLE lot more money. It's tough to stay for another year and risk injury (or a drop off in performance) when there are millions out there now. But one more year might make the difference between millions now and MILLIONS next year. He goes, but IMO he should stay. Should stay. Will go.
Mays - he should stay, period. I don't think he has the stuff to make it in the NBA - at least not get any long-term floor time. He's solid, but a bit too slow for the NBA. Heck, he should just finish up his degree, be a senior and team leader and one of the best in the NCAA, and then start med school. One more year for Mays. Should stay. Will stay.
Smart - definitely needs another year or two. Has NBA skill as PG or SG, but needs refinement, experience, strength. He played well but not game-in-game-out and clearly got better as the year went on. He will get better and definitely will increase his NBA stock significantly by staying one - maybe 2 more years. Should stay. Will stay.
Williams - same. He needs more time to develop. he can play in the NBA - especially as a defensive sub - much like he did for LSU - get in the game and make a difference with hustle and athleticism. But he needs more time to develop some offensive skills and showcase his talents before the NBA seeks him out. Should stay. Will stay.
I think the last three are just testing the waters like Waters did last year. They should be back....

Honestly, I think Waters would benefit by staying as well.
The guy was dynamic in the tournament. While there is no guarantee and probably more likely than not that next year wouldn't change his position, he had a real shot of dominating to the point where he's drafted in the late first, IMO.

Reid has the most to lose
He might sneak into late first round but is more likely second at this point.
Come back and could be lottery pick with improved low post moves.

Agree with your assessment. If Reid came back he could work on his inside game as well as receiving the ball in the post (hands). Reid could be a top 12 pick if he gave himself one more year under coach Wade. He could develop into a true inside-outside player.

Tremonts not getting any taller, whether he comes out this year or next, hes gonna be in the same situation. Might as well start getting paid and proving his worth as a pro. Theres nothing he can do at the college level to raise his stock.

I feel like Tremont can improve his draft stock by coming back, limiting his turnovers and increasing his 3pt percentage.
Reid should come back because he can't dribble without losing the ball. Which is not horrible for a big man who can score in the post. Problem is he likes to play away from the basket.

Look at how much Carson Edwards (6'0), Ky Bowman (6'1), and Markus Howard (6'1) improved their stock by coming back for their Junior seasons. Chris Clemons (5'9) also went from likely undrafted to a potential second round pick. shite basically every undersized PG in this years mocks are guys that came back to improve their stock as upperclassmen.

Improved from what? Maybe second round to slightly better chance of getting selected in the second round? Plus, all three guys (except Clemons) are listed at 6'0 or above. Waters is probably, at best, 5'10. THAT'S the knock on him and it's not changing whether he plays 2 years or 10 years in college. Even if he would improve by coming back it would be marginal.
FWIW, I think Waters is the best playmaking PG LSU has had since Chris Jackson. I'd love to see him back in an LSU uniform. But I completely understand his decision. Certainly there is a possibility (perhaps a likelihood) he won't get drafted. But that would be the same even if he returned and had a good year. The decision is basically "do I return to school and HOPE I get drafted next year?" Or, "do I get into the Summer league/G-leagues and see if I can earn a contract to try to start working my way up?"

All of this is irrelevant to Waters. Tremont is 5’9”-5’10”, that’s just the fact of the matter, and because of that he’s gonna have a hard time getting drafted. Hardly anything more he can do in college to help him

Steph Curry didn't enter the draft after an amazing sophomore year (much better than Waters') because of doubts about his size. He came back his junior year and proved he wasn't a complete liability on defense. Boom, top ten pick.

Curry is 6'3
Waters is 5'9
That's a pretty gigantic difference. Show me sub 6 foot players drafted in the 1st round of the NBA draft last decade

That pretty much proves my point even more. Steph is 6’3” and people were worried about his size. That’s 6” taller than Waters. Waters size is something that can not be overcome
