You've got to consider getting the toher team down here ... also if elec is out in much of BR damage to TS is irrelevant I would think.

Saturday night! When Baton Rouge residents wake up Thursday morning they will have breezy weather with mild gusts - this according to the NHC. That gives them most of Thursday and Friday to get ready. There will be a some power outages, but not too much. BR won't get hit any worse than NOLA. It's going to get more of a direct hit but from a dissipated storm. I'm sitting in my Metairie kitchen this morning with full power having coffee. Hopefully Baton Rougians will share this same fate tomorrow morning.

Levee overlapped below new Orleans. Water level has started to drop at shell beach.

Wow that's good to hear. I live in Plaquemine on the west side of BR and our power has yet to go out and I don't see any rain yet. Just some wind gusts every once in awhile. This thing must be moving very slowly

I still don't see the big fuss.
Lets play a game Saturday.

Maybe VC hasn't seen lsu campus after a hurricane?
And half of BR will be without power
I'm very skeptical that there will be a game this Saturday.. Lsu is very conservative about storms as well.

i really want to remain optimistic okay?

Couldn't they just move it to Sunday if needed? By Saturday there will absolutely be no more wind or rain and by late thursday Friday they should be able to start cleaning up

BR was without power for 8-14 days after Gustav l, and that hit BR on the "good" (east side)
This storm keeps moving west putting it on the "bad side" of BR.. 2 days straight of 60+ mph wind and predicted 20 inches of rain makes for a bad cleanup..
But it's not like I've been through any storms here

Winds won't top 55 at any point of this storm.
This storm is still being highly over-rated. Yes it's raining more and will cause massive flooding all around but the winds are weak in land. Even in BR.
So it rains a ton.. They can still play Saturday/Sunday. Not sure why yall are assuming power to go out so widely in BR.

Saturday is looking doubtful. It's moving slow, heading toward BR and won't clear there until late Thursday or Friday. Then they have to see damage to infrastructure plus power. Camera crews won't be able to set up, imo.
But...if we do play...it'll be a ground game and our backs will rule. (But then, they were going to do that anyway.)

Yeah true that. This badboy is moving slowwwww.
So when do you think they would play Sunday/Monday?
Could they just reshedule it all together and open up with Washington as the official first game of the season?

are you even watching the weather channel?Posted on 8/29/12 at 7:33 am to TheDoc
Yeah.
Let me know when the winds top 60 mph in Baton Rouge and when you lose power. I will stay tuned all day until then.
