Observations on Tiger Stadium Yesterday

That was the drunkest I’ve been for a game in a long time.

Ole miss may win but between the Miami game and this, that defense is suspect as hell

We can drink and still be good sports. Nothing is better than soothing some poor opponents with our south Louisiana hospitality. That said, don't trust those Ole Miss fans. They spike their chocolate mud pie with laxatives.

First game in 4 years and agree with everything you said. My vocal cords are sore from every single down. In the first half, THAT was tiger stadium.

While the noise definitely tapered down in the 3rd we were still bringing it till halfway thru after till we further buried them.

That's good to hear. What lot were you in and what was Nicholson like headed back to New Orleans? We sat for almost an hour in lot 414 and then were routed onto River Road and all the way through downtown to I-110 to I-10.

I also have not been to a game since 2016 and brought 4 people from out of state to their first LSU experience.

1-Tiger Stadium is still capable of producing its reputation. Crowd was into the game and loud. Everyone I was with and my friends from LSU were all impressed.

2-Traffic in was a bit painful (11am) and parking was quite a bit further away than I expected it would be. Made for a long walk back to car. But traffic out was not as bad as anticipated. We left midway thru 4th qtr just bc the out of towners had the rental car and were ready.

In fairness, we basically were able to stay along the south side the whole way with almost no turns until highland and never had to get to an interstate.

3-Piped in Music/Band: I would like to hear the band a little bit more, but thought the other music wasn’t as bad as made out by TD over the last 10 yrs. I think a nice compromise would be to alternate tv timeouts and possibly series between the band and piped in music.

I do notice the band a lot more on the tv broadcast than when in the stands.

4-Concessions were better than I expected. Having alcohol for sale was way nicer, especially given our circumstances with the weather. I also didn’t notice nearly as many sloppy drunk people entering the game.
I had the jambalaya and thought it was tasty and decent quantity for $12. My buddy had the burrito and was a little unhappy about the size. We also had boiled peanuts which we thought were amazing. We also were able to purchase more peanuts and bottled water in the 4th qtr.

5-Bathrooms were much nicer than last time I was there. There used to be the large open troughs and now were individual urinals. They could use some fans in there for some stagnation control of the heat, but it was also a muggy wet day.

6-Football product-this was the first game I have been to since 2019 vs UT and this team and coaching staff looked every bit a professional product. The communication, discipline, conditioning, depth and relentless competitiveness and unwillingness to take their foot off the gas was phenomenal.

Overall-I had stopped making the effort and spending the money to travel across the country to watch the tigers as the experience to cost ratio wasn’t worth it anymore. Watching an lsu team play like that makes me want to return again.

My buddy next to me was saying we should come back for Bama or UT. That’s pretty impressive for a first timer to want to spend the money for a flight, hotel and pricey tickets on secondary market. Full disclosure we spent $650/ticket for section 410. We offset that by betting $500 for lsu to cover 10.

Still….we gained a few new LSU fans this weekend
