I have attended many LSU games as a child, student, and adult. Yesterday I returned to campus for the Clemson game after a 9 year absence. Here's what I saw and experienced:

1. A well coached, prepared, focused, disciplined, and talented team on offense, defense, and special teams.

2. Players who weren't confused, cramping up, or looking lost.

3. Engaged, energetic and extremely loud fans filling the stadium and rattling the Clemson players. It was the Cathedral of Football.

4. A coach and his staff in full control of the team, the game plan and its execution.

5. Players and fans enjoying the game and game day experience, despite the massive rain and 2 hour delay.

6. A belief that this coach and team can go the distance this year without any "judge me in year 3" attitude.

7. Fewer obnoxiously drunk fans on campus before the game, which I attribute to reduced binge drinking because alcohol sales are now allowed in the stadium.

8. Post game traffic which is still a disaster and will probably never improve.

It was so much fun to wake up on Sunday morning and finally feel happy and optimistic about our Tigers. It's going to be a great season!

That was the drunkest I’ve been for a game in a long time.

I hope I wasn’t obnoxious

Agree with everything you posted.

Even the post game coverage on the radio was a pleasure to listen to!

Yes it was! It made the traffic almost bearable.

Ole miss may win but between the Miami game and this, that defense is suspect as hell

We can drink and still be good sports. Nothing is better than soothing some poor opponents with our south Louisiana hospitality. That said, don't trust those Ole Miss fans. They spike their chocolate mud pie with laxatives.

I know people will say its too early but the one thing i worry about is the SEC is gonna be coming for us and i mean on the field.

We have pissed off the SEC office and the Commissioner and don't tell me they won't retaliate. We are a founding school and they were talking about kicking us out.

Be prepared for some strange things in SEC games.

First game in 4 years and agree with everything you said. My vocal cords are sore from every single down. In the first half, THAT was tiger stadium.

While the noise definitely tapered down in the 3rd we were still bringing it till halfway thru after till we further buried them.

I didn't leave until 3 minutes left in the 4th and didn't really deal with that much traffic. We were parked near the Sonesta Hotel and were heading back to NO though. Crowd was great, but I've been to louder games. Talked to quite a few fans who haven't been to TS in 6 or 7 years.
