I wish him no ill will, but he is not doing anything to bring honor to himself or the university, toxic.

It is possible to bring incredible good press and contribute to LSU without looking like a nutcase doing it. I give you Tyrann Mathieu who I believe donated $1,000,000 to LSU and since leaving the university has only been a positive.

You know this for a fact....to a man??? Do tell please because its obvious you've spent extensive time around the team.

Your definition of likeable and mine must be really different. I like clowns too by the way.

so it's time to hate former players

Why don't you give us that long, long list of former players that are supposedly disrespected here for no reason. Landry? D White? Mathieu? Don't think so!

Yea cuz its not like OBJ does anything to warrant the criticism right?
Sure he's done some questionable things in the league.

But melting over last night is kinda weird. Players and coaches love him and want him around so I don't see the problem.

Like I said, usually around this time we're shitting on some player or coach. Since we've capped off a historic run with a title, it's pretty hard to do that.

But someone has to get the wrath of the rant

Agree, he has done more for LSU than anyone here. He is an ambassador and the players love him. Now we are mentioning his hair color and making references to the Pope.

The things silly tabloid reading Americans get mad about is just inconceivable to me. How his hair color or how he acts on the sidelines of a football GAME infuriates some I just cant grasp. It must be some form of deep seeded racism or i dont know what to be upset a black person could achieve such fame and fortune and yet he doesn't show complete gratitude and grovel in to his masters. How dare he have a personality of his own. The fact is he isn't breaking the law, or hurting anyone so unless his actions results in a recruiting violation or he purposely hurts or murders someone, he is an ex football player and I personally will support him.

C'mon guy, the race card? Seriously???? LSU I believe has a few black ex-players that NEVER get criticized and indeed get praised so I think you need a bit more evidence of a pattern before you play the race card! But hey, keep writing that fiction novel!

He also imposed himself into Coach O's post-game speech to the team. I thought that was more attention whorish than the sideline money antics.

Like most things in life. Folks make decisions on what they think they see not what they know.

I'm going to give an answer that all will hate, none will love and it will sound like fence straddling... but it is the truth:

quote:

OBJ: Great LSU Ambassador or Toxic Attention Whore?
BOTH, depending on the audience or who you are asking.

Ask a 16 yr old football player from STM or ASH or Parkway and he's a great ambassador.

Ask a 56 yr old former football player and he's toxic.

For me, there's only 3 groups to ask that question to who's answer matters:
- Coaches on our staff
- Players on our team
- Blue chip recruits considering LSU

Believe me, there's plenty of non-celebrity non-athlete wealthy/rich people out there that are just as toxic and just as much an attention whore. They just don't get the camera time.

The players on LSU's team LOVE HIM. They LOVEEEEE him. He's extremely likable, does tons of things for that team, truly wants them to succeed. Every player on that team comes in and OBJ treats them as a true friend/little brother.

Has he ever been arrested? Has he ever gotten busted for drugs or beating women? His worst crime is that he dyes his hair, wears bright colors, and is around the program too much.

So if he's good to our program, donates time and money, helps connect kids to the program...why must we dislike him so much? I don't understand it at all. I really have zero idea. Jefferson and Chase both wore cleats for the title game that he gave them.

His antics in the locker room is an example of not being able to control mental impulses to a fault. The handing out o real hundred dollar bills on the sideline to several players was immature, against the rules, and narcissistic. How many players took the cash ? Might NFL teams think twice about drafting a player that takes cash ? Will they take cash from Vegas when nobody’s looking ?
