In his weekly press conference that one of the big runs was a result of him being too aggressive and calling a run stunt which got them out of position.

My questions are, is it normal for someone other than the D-Coordinator to be calling stunts and how often does this happen? Needs to let Aranda do his thing and keep his hands off IF this is happening on a regular basis. It will only create divide and issues if he is undermining him. Not saying he is or overreacting but that comment got me thinking back to when he started overriding Canada on stuff.

Again not overreacting or claiming its normal, just was curious what other's thoughts were.

When you are the boss, you get to do what you want. Not saying I support or don’t, just making the statement.

When you have to say you are not overreacting twice in a post you are indeed overreacting.

This is not something bitch about.

So he dables a bit in calling the actual position he's known for coaching? That's like bitching about Joe Brady calling the route for receivers on an RPO.

Yea, this OP is ridiculous Would OP be surprised Saban calls the occasional defensive play for Bama?

It's SEC football. Big plays happen sometimes. The final score is what matters.

Did it even occur to you that maybe:

1. Aranda called it and O is taking responsibility as HC

2. O asked Aranda to call a run stunt and that was the stunt Aranda called. This scenario would not be that unusual, a head coach asking a coordinator for a certain type of play then then the coordinator making the specific call.

You can't make calls for just one position. It affects the whole defense.

This is a good possibility, too.

Dude, O is a defensive line guru, he is more than qualified to call a run stunt.

They are 10-0 under O, this is his baby to mess up or succeed. I ride with O now.

The downvotes will be forthcoming, but he really needs to keep his fat little shrimp smelling fingers off the playbook and let the pros do their job.

All that's is needed from him is to give his silly little interviews in that ridiculous cartoonish voice, and to close it with a ...Geaux Tigers for the amusement of Holly Rowe.

haha nope I stated it twice because I know how the majority of the people on this board are. You obviously fit that bill and it is further displayed by all the down votes by people that clearly think I am. It's whatever

You don’t know how it works nor do I. Being the line coach he may hear the defense and then signal in to his group. He may have suggested it to DA. He may just be taking the heat. One thing is for sure, the buck stops with O and it should. Great coaching

Head coaches over-ride their coordinators all the time, this is nothing new. Even if Aranda did call a stunt, it still falls on the head coach because he can over-ride that.

So I guess we can start blaming O for the other games as well... THIS IS NOT THE RESULT OF ONE PLAY CALLING

This year:
Vandy scoring 38 on us should send out alarms.
Texas 38, Bama 41, Ole Miss 37

please explain how that is solid Defense.

Last year (except the OT game) NO ONE SCORED OVER 30.
in fact, only 2 scored over 20 and that was 21 pts.

Right, because their defensive prowess is comparable .

The question was isolated to our team and how often people think O is making the calls as opposed to Aranda.
