I was happy when we let go of Les and O. I don’t think they were better coaches than Kelly as time can only reveal that to us. But this offense is different than anything I ever recall. I’ve been around a while and this seems like a mid major style offense that actually works at places like Cincinnati. It seems ineffective or less effective than anything I ever recall at LSU.. I understand that we have little talent We have been there before.

You continue to be one of the worst posters on this board. Horrible takes.

O was a fricking moron but I'm far from sold on BK. Sorry, I just don't see it. All his negatives from ND are showing up and I'm not sure he can win a SEC title here or NC. We'll always be handicapped offensively because he's not creative and that's not going to win NC. I'm convinced he's Les Miles who talks better with less talent. If he gets past his stubbornness and is willing to change like he did at ND on backend we'll be fine. Otherwise, he's really a square peg meet round hole type which is why he got Denbrock and Polian. I'd argue Cook to a lesser degree. Always had a big game stigma similar to Stoops. Talent argument can only go so far.

Saban was throttled by Alabama
Curb stomped by VA Tech
And was Auburn's bitch once.
Sooner or later everybody takes a beating

For all the “O did this” crowd, I thought it was worth pointing out that aside from two games against a dominant program, we were always in every game in Death Valley into the 4th quarter.
Even in the most dysfunctional periods of the last two regimes, we weren’t getting boat raced at home.
Agree, the 2020 season was covid, losing coaches and players left for draft. 2021 was coach O not participating in the BLM bullshite. He lost the team on that. I just can't understand some people on this board just disrespecting him so much. The man won a natty and then shite his pant. Lost his marriage, lost the team due to his political and social beliefs which most of us on here agree with. I guarantee you this team would have been fired up to play tennessee and not look sleepy on the field. I still believe Kelly will turn things around some, but don't have much confidence beyond that. He is recruiting great, but better start looking more competitive or recruiting will start sucking

quote:Folks like to shite on the 2007 2 loss champs, but ignore Saban's 3 loss champ with same 5-3 SEC record as the 8-5 2002 squad you point out.
Saban won the SEC CHAMPIONSHIP in only his second season. In his third season, that bad 2002 team, he tied with Arkansas for the SEC West champion (head-to-head loss).
A bad period at Bama and a somewhat meh SEC helped Saban fill LSU's SEC trophy room.

You realize the situation Kelly is in vs the situation Miles was in, during their first year, is not even close to being the same?

What a dog shite comparison and thread by the OP.

Comparing apples to oranges. Every team is different, and this year has so many holes like a slice of swiss cheese. Also, letting a top-10 team with clearly more talent on the field on their side go up 10-0 within the first couple of minutes never ends well.

Oh good another useless post drawing comparisons to past coaches and their performance.
100% correct - the obsession with past v. current coaches is odd.

O lost to Troy... I'll take a top 10 Tennessee loss over that any day
Posted on 10/13/22 at 3:05 pm to ForeverEllisHugh
Well the fact remains that O the dickhead pretty much hollowed out the LSU football program. So there's that.
