re: Favorite LSU football game in person experience

2007 Florida game. It was my freshman year and I didn’t have student tickets for because I thought I was going to be in the band and not need tickets. Bought some from another student, went to go in and they had already been used. Called my pops to let him know and he said “I don’t care how much it cost, you have to go to this game, buy a ticket from a scalper” bought myself one for a stupid amount of money, was all the way up in the top deck by myself surrounded by Florida fans. It “heavily misted”. The Stanford beating USC announcement. Hester being a monster and refusing to be stopped. All the shite talking Florida fans having their souls ripped out in the background 4th quarter. I don’t think I will ever be able to top it.
It wouldn't surprise me, the AP always seems to give some slack when you lose a big game to start the season. That being said, we should not be in the top 10. I still think this is a good football team that got exposed by playing one of the top teams in the country, but until we figure out some of our glaring issues I think we should sit in the 15-18 area for awhile if we are trying to rank teams accurately.

One of the few coaches I always pulled for unless he was playing us. Real leader, always straight up and genuine in a time where that is becoming harder and harder to find. Football just got a little less fun today.

O lost to Troy... I'll take a top 10 Tennessee loss over that any day

Kansas State
O'Brien, his entire team hated him by the time he left the Texans and I can't imagine that guy suddenly changing his personality enough to win over this team or recruits, and he doesn't have the coaching resume to get people to play for him despite his personality.
The last line of the MSN article really puts the state of LSU football in perspective right now.
"As maligned as O’Brien has been, he likely will have some chances to “get right” in the upcoming weeks. Alabama shouldn’t have much trouble handling Tennessee, LSU, Mississippi State and New Mexico State.
But whatever issues the Crimson Tide are having on offense (and defense), they had better get them figured out by the time they finish the season against Arkansas and Auburn."

re: Signing day next week will tell us how stable the program is

I know it's just rumor and speculation at this point that we have other fresh/soph players that are going to want to transfer this offseason. If we are able to keep the signing class together and bring in a ton a talent I wonder if that helps bring in some stability for the current players that if they stay we will be back on top sooner than later.

Buddy if you think that that all went down and the coaches didn’t know about it then I don’t know what to tell you. O has stretched the truth to some wild degrees this year but that was by far the most ridiculous one. Well, maybe second most after talking about how good the defense looked in the off-season.
I mean roll your eyes all you want but look at the teams that are once again stable and dominating college football and look at the current state of our program. Look at what their coaches said and did and look at what ours did. Seems pretty obvious what the right move was.

When he wasn’t at the march? When it was obvious and noteworthy enough that it was making headlines that he wasn’t there with his team at a time when other coaches were marching/ holding events for their respective teams.

... pretty much just show up and support them. Literally the bare minimum.
The fact that this is still an issue is so stupid. Regardless of your politics or O’s politics, if it’s important to your players then make them believe it is important to you too. I’ve never heard Saban speak a word about his politics or beliefs but when it came time for him to show up and stand in front of his team because something mattered to them, he did it because that’s how you lead and that’s how you get people to follow you. Case in point look at their team and look at ours. I’m sure there are other things in play but I know I’ve never even heard a whisper of Alabama’s team quit on that dude. “One team one heartbeat unless it’s politics and then make sure you make your beliefs heard even if they disenfranchise your players” is hard to get behind.

I don't know how anyone could have seen Ole Miss go score to score with Bama, end up with 48 points and lose that game in the 4th quarter, then watch our game on Saturday and think oh yeah we are probably going to beat that team. We may win that game, but it would definitely be a surprise. Lane Kiffin has to be absolutely dying to play this defense to end the season as a tone setter for his program for next year.
Dude is such a die hard LSU fan he doesn't even know that Marshall's first name is Terrace not Terrence...
