Really? You're the coach, think you might need to learn how?? Maybe that's why we always stay in a four man defensive front and NEVER change?? Like maybe blitz some, etc., etc!! He probably doesn't know why we never do that!! Unfortunately, you can't make this sh** up!!

Honestly we dont use the screen much at all because we have nobody at RB or WR right now who would be good with it.

Goodwin and Bradford seem to be out, and they're the screen RB if we have one. TDP and Kiner arent really screen backs.

On the flipside you like what Boutte can do with the ball in his hands quickly which we did screen to him some, but he's out now. We've tried some quick hitters to Palmer and it's been largely unsuccessful.

on top of all that, WR screens arent going to be great when you have a QB like Max who takes forever to get the ball where it's going. Screen passes to WRs need to be quick, and there isnt much zip there when he throws it.

O's background goes into his decision making. At Ole Miss, he did to much, didnt listen to his coordinators etc and failed. Comes to LSU, has the pieces set and wins a Natty listening to his coordinators. As much as we all want to force the Coach O is a moron, he isn't. He knows hes not an X and Os guy, so he leaves that to the guys he trusts. The issue is the coordinators this year are so afraid to make a mistake because all of the LSU fans calling for their heads that they don't want to make adjustments for fear of making things worse.

Our WRs don’t block. That’s the biggest issue.

Also, you need an Oline with an ounce of athleticism and blocking ability.

I’m sorry, but the HC can tell his coordinator to install and run screen passes. You don’t have to be a football savant to do that.

Pretending to be an outsider when answering these type questions is O’s approach. It’s BS.

So…again..y’all complain that he “meddles with the coordinators” and want him to stay away, now you want him to meddle

There’s legit things to bitch about, this ain’t one.

. Actually there’s tons to bitch about and this is one as well. This is what happens when your coach hires idiots with no play calling experience to be the offensive and defensive coordinators. Watching you knight for orgeron and then watching you in 19 wanting aranda fired after every first down is the damndest thing I’ve seen. I hope they hire aranda to make you cry lol

LSU hasn't done it for years, except for a little in 2019. For whatever reason, LSU coaches just don't have any idea how to run a screen. It would seem easy enough to watch the better screen teams and document what every player does on successful screen plays....AND DO THAT!!! Football isn't that hard. Learn from others, do what they do, study until you understand why a play works against a certain defense and why it doesn't. Learn how to change to or away from that play on the field. Football isn't that hard. We must have the laziest coaching staff in America. They make tons of money and can't do the most basic things their job calls for. Ridiculous

Maybe the least important part, unless you are referring to those quick WR passes... We ran a true RB screen against Florida, and it was perfectly setup. Florida had an aggressive rush, we had 3 wide on the opposite side of the field, attracting 4 DBs, perfect pass over the rush. Then we let one Florida LB get through our 3 OLinemen, and blow it up. If Martinez even gets a finger on him, it's a 40 yard gain.

That's the only RB screen I can remember seeing so far. We just don't have any lineman with athleticism to run it. I still think we should try though.

That’s not what he said, which was that we have not been good at running screen passes since he got here. He doesn’t know why we have not been good. He DOES know why we don’t run them; it’s because we’re not good at them.

Actually, our offensive line should be good for blocking screen plays, because a linemen’s responsibility is to literally let the defensive linemen go unblocked.
