Actually, many on here thought Nuss was better than JD5
Actually, when healthy he was equal, at that time. See the . SEC Championship game. Nuss had the best performance of the season vs Georgia Defense, which led the nation.
Once Nabers and Thomas left, with Daniels, the competition wasn't equal.
We haven't had a receiver equal to those two since.

You could slice it up anyway you want.. but Nuss and JD are not on the same playing field.

I wish he would have led the Tigers to a ring! Smh Everything was indicating that this was the year! This was gonna be his year winning a Natty and the Heisman. Wrong! Try someone called Fernando Mendoza, someone I never heard of at the beginning of the season, but what a season he had.
but I like what Nussmeir has done here in this Senior bowl, it should improve his draft stock tremendously.

Kid was preseason Heisman favorite. He has the talent to play pro ball just needs to be in the right system and developed by someone who knows how to coach qb’s

So was Cade Klubnik and Drew Allar. Just saying

Maybe Nuss wasn’t the issue. But the short fat dude that was out of place and still collecting a paycheck while he plays golf pretending to look for another job.
At least he is gone, and LSU football is on the high speed Lane Train to the College Football playoff while stealing grocery baskets instead of paying for bags.

Dude, come on. Nuss did play very well against UGA, but the score was 35-10 when he came in and never got closer than 19 points in the 2nd half. I love what Nuss did in that game, but UGA was in cruise control already.
Daniels broke the LSU record for QB rushing yards and TDs and led the team in rushing in his first year at LSU. He led the nation in QB rush yards too. He had back-to-back SEC Offensive Player of the Week Awards in huge games against Ole Miss and Bama leading LSU to the West title. And even though he started 13 games in 2022, Nuss still had more interceptions than him for the entire year. JD only threw 3 picks in 2022. Nuss was not equal to him.

I’m not going to give Nuss any more shite than I did at times last year. And I do believe the injury and awful coaching contributed to a lot of the failure.
Nuss stuck around here for 5 years in an age where guys don’t do that. I’ll always respect him for riding it out here even if it didn’t have the storybook ending. Hope he does well in the NFL, he’s got the potential to do so.

Hahaha. Holy delusion. Jd5 was better in every metric you judge a qb. You Nuss guys are insane.
The guy proved what he was in his career. A little better than average qb with terrible pocket presence and bad decision making
People can judge these guys now as they are paid professionals

How many years did Daniels play as a Starting QB?
You are comparing his performance vs Nuss a first year starter.
It appears that Daniels started three years at Ariz St and two years at LSU.
"Jayden Daniels played quarterback for Arizona State from 2019 to 2021 under coach Herm Edwards, starting as a true freshman and immediately impacting the team. He threw for over 6,000 yards, 32 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions in 29 games,"

He’s better when not injured, 100%
Unless he fixes the mental parts of his game it’ll never work

Your argument was that nuss was equal to JD so which is it?
Was nuss equal to JD or was JD better but only because of more experience

Are we still doing this?
Jayden Daniels has been, is and will continue to unequivocally be a better QB than Garrett Nussmeier.

Like I can't believe we're still doing the Nuss vs Daniels thing. There is more than enough data to show that Daniels was better in pretty much every metric than Nuss, who by the way, graded out as one of the worst deep ball throwers in the the SEC... in the 2024 season.
Anyone still trying to make a case for Nuss being remotely close to Daniels either has no idea what they are watching when they turn a football game on or are doing some weird race thing where they are giving the benefit of the doubt to the good 'ol white baw and nitpicking the black dude with braids.
Either way, it's a stupid look.
