I figured we might get a #18 announcement today, but I noticed some other new changes.

Mike Jones is now #6
Derrick Davis is in #12

Previous changes:
Boutte #7
Nussmeier #13

Yes, but it used to be limited to 105 for practices until classes begin.

GET YA PANTIES UNBUNCHED!!!

WHY does this bother some of you ranters? Its a players thing !! You don't decide who gets the #'s,you don't have any say whatsoever. If it helps their mentality on the field , good.
Quit cha bitchin!

My only issue with 18 is that I don’t think there needs to be two 18s. It just became watered down over the last five years. 7 always seemed to organically end up being a playmakers jersey.

We live in an age where everyone needs to put out content and fans feed off of it. So the hype videos surrounding 7/18 have built up expectations that were quickly diluted by players not living up to lofty expectations and players opting out.

The entire thing soured with Giles (for most people).

someone wants to downvote, but not give an answer? Unless there has been a change, this is still the rule for only 105 in camp.

It doesn’t need to die just get back to its roots. #7 really started with Peterson then went to TM7 and should’ve stayed with the DBs like Nebraska’s #3 with their blackshirts in the 90s. #18 started with Mauck then went to Hester and that’s where it should’ve stayed in the offensive backfield. Having WRs wear 7 doesn’t make sense and having defensive tackles wear 18 doesn’t make sense. They’ve broken the lineage and should go back to what started the traditions.

I feel like the #7 should strictly be on defense but the 18 could be either or. Four nettle was the only 7 on offense who wore it right

or go back to #7 being passed from one guy directly to the next.

Peterson gave it to Matthieu.
don't make it a coach or team issue. Just let 7 give it to the guy he sees as "next"

18 is a leadership number. Go back to letting all the previous 18s vote on it.
and it needs to be ONE guy that truly embodies what it means to be a Tiger on the field and off.

Well Ponamsky was going after every person on Twitter that cracked a joke about Giles wearing 7. I’ve seen the dm’s where’s he’s said that “maybe I should go make a hype video of his practice highlights to prove it”.

That was strictly an Orgeron thing. He gave him that number while stating that he couldn’t be stopped on the field. That and issuing two 18 jerseys.

i don't think he counts (technically)
I seem to remember Peterson making a point that he handed his jersey down to his "little brother" and that's where it started.
