Now that Stingley will wear 7 who’s gonna wear 18?

Symbolically give it to an OL like Cush and let it breathe a year.

I can’t find the actual thread, but someone like just last month mentioned both the 7 and 18 tradition has lost their luster and would like to see it go away. They had well over 50 upvotes and the overall consensus was they agreed.

I guess a lot has changed in a month and now the tradition is cool again

In today’s culture, honor and tradition is meaningless.

This “tradition” started as a joke barely 15 years ago under a guy now blacklisted by the university. It’s not this deeply rooted sacred “honor.”

If the players like it, fine. Keep doing it as long as they do. In the pointless opinion of this fan, both 7 and 18 can die peacefully.

People forgot they really don’t care. First time Stingley gets beat for a 12 yard pass they’ll remember.

Dual 18s is dumb and loses the luster. If you want multiple guys, give our captains patch.

I’m ambivalent. But ever since Giles wore 7, it’s become meaningless to me.

How about we let the players and coaches decide... it's their thing, not a fan thing!
