He allowed special players much more rope than others. That's the point

I think you've cooked this up to fit your view of the program. If you look across the SEC, Miles probably among the strongest in taking care of off-the-field issues.

The Miami players LOVED Larry Coker and were the ones who requested he be hired in the first place FYI.

Larry Coker was fired for a 6-6 regular season record in 2006. When we see that, he'll be relevant to the conversation.

No problem with him recruiting RP. It was a good risk at the time. Miles mismanaged it though and put all his eggs in the risky Perrilloux basket. Where did I say Miles shouldn't have recruited RP? I said he gave him a long leash for 3 years and in the end despite that and banking on a player with the previous two years of stupidity is all on Miles.

He had no backup plan, thus bad management. In the end, I hope Les proves me wrong, but the last two years are what many feared from him when he was hired.

No, its not the first time people have made this argument. It pertains directly to Perrilloux and several other players that Miles gave chances despite their ridiculous behavior and didn't plan at all knowing the fact he was unreliable. Thus the "quagmire" of a QB situation we've had for the past 2 seasons according to some.

Even if Miles would have gotten rid of RP after the first offense, it does not change the situation that was created. If you think JJ, dinks and dunks, what did Hatch do? J. Lee would have still been pressed into action too soon. Nothing changes.

he could've told Jimbo to leave Tebow alone, which may have kept Alex Cate committed. Although Cate may not have panned out any better than Lee has.

When Les dumped RP, he had a 4 star on campus (Lee), and 1 signed (JJ)...his big mistake wasn't the lack of a QB plan, it was entrusting their development to Crowton.

It's not about first offense and getting kicked off the team. It's that Lester didn't get a legit QB prospect in 2006 class and that is partly what backfired on LSU.

It is on RP too, don't get me wrong, but acting like Miles is a victim here and in no way responsible is what gets me about some LSU fans.

I don't think anyone thinks Miles shouldn't take responsibility for this, and if he doesn't turn it around, the QB situation will be a big part of his demise. The sentiment of those defending the situation is that it is what it is and it can be overcome.

We've already seen 7-5. Is that so drastically different?

We were technically 6-5 against FBS competition too. I'd say that's pretty damn close to 6-6. Still, this team showed improvement last season on defense, and hopefully can improve on both sides of the ball this season.

It's just a characteristic of internet message boards. As someone pointed out above, some have trouble distinguihing between opinion and fact and spend endless posts trying to "prove" opinions which is something that's patently impossible to do.

Heck, you can find message boards out there where people spend just as much time and engergy trying to prove that their opinion of any given Star Wars movie is the "right" one. It's just something that makes peopl feel better about themselves by critiquing people or things without ever having to put their views to the test by doing it themselves.

have they checked his SEC record the past two seasons?

Have you checked who his starting QBs have been the past two seasons?

I wonder who recruited them?

We've had 10 win seasons as well and y'all act like last years 9 win season was the beginning of the apocalypse. So by the rants own definition...it is a drastic difference.

WHY.............OH, WHY, do turds keep blaming miles for getting paid $3.75 million per year.

the argument has no logical sense.

miles was given that money by LSU because he won a national championship, it was NOT because of the next 4 years. he was given that money by the board of directors because of the impact the n.c. has on the money making ability of the school BECAUSE of the n.c.

if you won the n.c. wouldn't you expect some money?

he earned it. he doesn't have to earn it for future performances.
IF he wins the n.c. this year, he will get another bonus. you get the money b/c of deliverance, not on promises.

have any of you turds given your boss back any money?
so, it just means anyone who uses the argument is really really stupid.
