Have you checked who his starting QBs have been the past two seasons?

HEck looking how JR produced in the pros perhaps Miles should have been given a medal plus how he kept Flynns development going who is slowing up the ladder int he pros

It's a nice puff piece that manages to ignore a lot of facts.

1) Less Miles has had mediocre seasons the past 2 seasons with poor coaching being a major part.

2) Winning an NC, largely by sheer luck of backing into the title game, does not excuse one from criticism. Let's ask Miami how Larry Coker did for them.

3) Miles is paid $3.75M+/year. Either win consistently, or GTFO. You get paid to win games at that salary, not to act like a moron, blame your mistakes on 18 and 19 year old kids and acting self-righteous.

Les Miles deserves his shot to prove his critics wrong, but the criticisms of him by many in the media and LSU fans are fully warranted

Cause how players perform in the NFL is a great measuring stick for college coaches.

I am pulling for Miles to turn things around. That being said I cant stomach another season like last year. Lets hope the Tigers get back on track.

I would not say fully warranted . Some is. I am ore worried that unthinking criticism could lead to LSU doing something they will regret.

The fact that recently Auburn and Tenn did not get their 1'st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th choices for their Coaches recently should lets say dictate a little caution

It seems JM problem was one of attitude in the pros. I am not sure he magically transformed there in the pros. The fact that Miles perhaps had to work around that I think is of some credit.

Or it had to do with him actually getting paid a ton of money and then becoming lazy. JR performed well and worked at LSU because he was working towards that pay day. Once he earned that payday he no longer had anything to work for.

LSU needs to do what is fiscally in its best interest. Paying $6M+ for a staff to fight for 2nd/3rd in the SEC West is not good.

Sadly, LSU fans aren't the same make up that they were in 1998-1999. Those fans are still there, but a bunch of bandwagoners jumped on after 2001 & 2003, and will jump off once LSU isn't consistently fighting for SEC title births past early November.

Miles deserves all the criticism he gets given his arrogant attitude. No offense, he's said somethings that are embarrassing and has thrown kids under the bus multiple times, especially the young guys, when he's as much or even more responsible. That leaves him deserving of the criticism.

Back to back NC appearances, one of them a win the other a loss (lol delay PI).

1 NC
2 BCS bowl wins
3 conference championships
Ranked at #1, #2, #5, #11, #17, UR

Then shite hit the fan. All runs come to an end and a conference change was a large part of Miamis fall from the top.

Only fricking idiots would be upset with those results in a 6 year period. Miami was absolutely loaded when he left.. why did they not see a dramatic improvement?

Les Miles is a good enough person that LSU fans owe it to him to be fair in their criticism. When there is criticism that is unfair, that's when people step up to defend him. There are simply people who do not want him as the LSU head coach and never have and the results don't have anything to do with it
