After the game last night I stayed up until 2:30 this morning watching all the replays and interviews just like I did when LSU beat Clemson for the national title. I "slept" a couple of hours and got up this morning and searched for more replays and interviews - just like I did after LSU beat Clemson. Most expected LSU to beat Clemson for the title but few expected LSU to win the regional and advance. I guess that is why I got the same excitement last night. I know it was not the same as the football title but it sure made me feel like it.

Agreed, last night was a pretty incredible feeling. Felt much like the time we beat UF in 97 when they were #1 and unbeatable.

Disagree. LSU football and baseball are equal yet different entities in my heart. Comparing them is like comparing fine bourbon to a fine cigar.

Each is meaningful in its own way. As far as the way of Tiger baseball goes, last night will live on in lore. The last ride of Paul, bringing back the ghosts of ‘89, finally getting the “west coast” monkey off our back, and just a hell of a two-game set with the Ducks, complete with legendary performances from (errybody).

And I’ll be darned if it didn’t go down smooth as hell

As happy as we are and as proud of the team as we should be, you can bet on it that many of our wonderful "fans" will be quick to criticize and berate players and coaches this weekend should everything not go perfectly in their expert opinions.

I wish I cared even 1 percent as much about LSU baseball as football, just don’t.

Baseball has 56+ games, so unfortunately momentum and focus from fans doesn’t pick up until mid April. Teams can begin to peak at right time and then it’s on. If you lose 1-2 games in football, it’s over. So fans have a much more vested interest and the games have more meaning. Football is also going to get more coverage so you can either be happy for a week after a big win or like me, I won’t watch the tv for a few days after a loss.

I think he means more just this regional series than the whole season.

Four straight games were elimination games so, exactly like, if you lose one game, you’re out. The suspense of the entire three days from a close game with UCC to a double header beginning with a revenge game vs the team that already beat you in Gonzaga straight into playing and beating the #1 seed Ore 60 minutes later. Finishing the incredible stretch of games in a rematch with the #1 seed with an almost perfect pitching strategy (Ty was a let down) and completed with your Ace throwing his heart out in the final 2 1/3 of what could have been is last game in a Tiger jersey in an epic 9 inning game all around by both teams. And a balk to score the go ahead run after throwing to first a dozen times making me “booo” out loud from my couch!! Ha!!

It was a hellavu Regional series. They must have been exhausted playing with all heart.

Agree the seasons are not comparable. But the emotions of this weekend were a lot like the emotions of a football season.

Geaux Tigers!

Had the TV on mute and listened on the radio. After the tv interviews, scrolled back around 15 pages on TD and read every entry

I thought the pitching situation meant lsu had no shot vs the host.

so I wasnt worried.
perspective: I can hardly stand watching live lsu football because I desire an outcome.

when I explained the balk rule and the play on the bunt to housemate she was amazed.

I wouldn’t say Warren Morris is that much different! Both will always have “legendary” player status.

I’m happy the team won but nothing will ever compare to the 2019 NC

Yep, did all the same things. Agree with the excitement, but with your thread title I thought you gonna say the opposite. I know it is for most, but it's pretty damn exciting to me!

Thousands of us feel that way right now.

It's hard not to choke up with pride when thinking about the team and the most unusual unprecedented season. I can't stop watching highlights either.

Win or Lose in Knoxville I think every LSU Baseball fan will be looking on at our Boys of Summer like Miyagi did Danielsan after he whipped Johnny's arse.

Walrus, I suppose I can understand if you don't really care about baseball like you do football. I absolutely love LSU baseball the way I do LSU football, but I care nothing about watching a basketball game.

Cant compare beating an average oregon baseball team with an undefeated reigning nat champion Florida football team coached by a legend. NOBODY was beating Spurrier back in that time period (except Bobby Bowden every now and then and Terry Bowden with a probation riddled Auburn team. Florida under Spurrier was as dominant of a program ever. With that said it was a great baseball game and will mean more if they can get to Omaha.

I feel an SEC championship is harder in football than baseball. A natty in both is great, but I enjoy the football SEC championship a bit more than the baseball one.
