Not even sure the Alabama court has personal jurisdiction over the individual defendants .

... if those defendants' contacts with Alabama are merely in their capacities as LSU's representatives.

Not your problem. I'm pretty sure the lawyers for both sides have this worry covered

Filed in Alabama so that when we travel up there for football, they can arrest Lane.

For the downvoter:

As recognized by Alabama federal courts, "personal jurisdiction over corporate officers and employees in their individual capacity may not be predicated merely upon personal jurisdiction over the corporation itself; rather, a court must look to the individual and personal contacts, if any, of the officers and employees with the forum state."

Approximately 48 hours before a home kickoff against Clemson to start a promising new season, and the board is hosting an amatuer seminar on civil procedure.

frick the joke this sport has become.

I miss real college football.

You have it backwards. This is saying that if you sue the CEO of a company in his individual capacity, you cannot establish personal jurisdiction over the individual just because you may have personal jurisdiction over the company.

That's not what has happened here. Here, Lane, Verge, and Rousse have been sued in their capacity as Head Coach, AD, and President. Still, I think there may be a question as to whether a federal district court in Alabama has personal jurisdiction over them. We'll see.

You are confusing the nature of the allegations with the contacts with the forum state sufficient to create personal jurisdiction. There is not personal jurisdiction if the contacts are merely in their representative capacities.

And they HAVE been sued in their individual capacities, which is why they are named as separate defendants in the lawsuit. Thus, the court needs personal jurisdiction over them individually, which, depending on the defendants' nature of their contacts with Alabama, the court may not have.

That very well may be the case, but that's not what your quote says. It says the inverse.

Incorrect. "Individual" there means sued in their individual capacities, which they have been.
