This season, in my opinion, is the direct result of several really savvy chess moves. He deserves a lot of credit.

He's the head coach. He has the ultimate say so on everything. He gets the most praise/credit as well as the most blame/criticism. He is indeed crushing it right now. It's his world and we are all just living in it as witnesses right now as far as college football is concerned. Proud to have him as the coach at LSU.

It’s really a special thing

Chase’s dad said O told him in recruiting Ja’Marr, “ I’m gonna get a QB, we’re gonna throw the ball, I’m gonna get a young guy to implement the spread, but we need Ja’Marr first”

His willingness to put his pride aside and be able to open his eyes to what is actually best for LSU is special.

So he looks at all the talent we have on offense that had been underutilized. Goes out and gets a smart, athletic QB. Then goes and gets Joe Brady so that tallent can be exploited.

The difference between coach O and many coaches is that he goes for it BUT when or if that plan doesn’t work, he doesn’t try to prove people wrong or stay with it to prove he’s right. It’s not working so let’s change it NOW, is his approach while still making those aggressive choices.

He will go head up with Bama or anyone else but he doesn’t always win. He doesn’t give up though, he changes his approach then comes right back. He heard there was interest around CA and Baltimore so he took his high energy and LSU brand over to those areas without hesitation. It’s paid off and will pay off more in the future. He never takes the credit either. He gives it to his players and coaches. He doesn’t plead for an easy route, he’ll take the hand that’s dealt and get after it, knowing that it will make him and his players better, win, lose or draw. I love it!

It's pretty easy to tell that the players are feeding off of that as well. Almost (again almost) reminded me of the Patriots how the players echoed that sentiment when asked about it.
