That's all it is for LSU, just a more glorified version of a Spring Game, and hullabaloo for Houston High School to crow about.

Jesus christ you sound fun. Do you only come out and watch your kids team when they make the playoffs???

Season sucked and we still get one more chance to descend on a place, tailgate and watch out tigers take the field! But have fun grumbling about the playoffs and how ruined college football is....some of us will be enjoying it today

To the OP:
Don’t watch.
The playoffs have made these bowls somewhat meaningless as far as being the CFB champion but that doesn’t make useless.
Maybe you don’t enjoy college football but a lot of people do. These bowls generate income and exposure for the city hosting them. They give teams practices they wouldn’t normally have. In our case, while Kiffin and staff aren’t coaching this game, I’m sure they were watching the practices.
For the kids playing (we have to remember these are 18-22 yr old college kids) in some cases this will be their last game playing a sport they love.
So, just don’t watch and allow the rest of us to enjoy one last game.

isn't college football great with the system that's morphed thru the virtuous crowds that got it all going with the constant rant that athletes deserved to be paid ... and they stand by this mess en masse describing it as "modern athletics". They care not what has been lost nor do they understand what the amorphous system will bring ... and their new cause unions. Won't it be wonderful.

In that regard, these bowl games have always been "meaningless." If anything, the addition of the playoffs have made more bowl games meaningful. But the non-playoff bowls have the exact same bearing on the national championship as they had before: none. We watch these games because we enjoy football and cheering for our schools.

Useless according to you, and only you, apparently. Get over it. Bowls have been around for a century and playoffs only a few years. If you don’t like bowls, don’t watch them. Rest assured there are fans who are not interested in these playoffs, as well. Playoffs lost their legitimacy when Tulane and Madison jumped in.
