What kind of restaurant experiences are you looking for? Is price a concern?

Some places I would consider at various price points:

Peche
Cochon
Butcher
Compere Lapin
Saba
Coquette
Parkway (there's nothing wrong with them for poboys)
Bacchanal (wine, music, small plates)
Commander's Palace
GW Fins
Stein's Deli
St James Cheese Company (downtown location)
Atchafalaya (great weekend jazz brunch)
Blue Oak BBQ
Toup's

Just a few off the top with a variety of experiences and price points.

Almost the entire outdoor area of Rusty Nail has become Sidecar.

Sidecar is more upscale with Oysters, Cocktails and Wine. I don't believe that part is a Bama bar anymore. Maybe just the inside of the Nail.

Sidecar is quite nice.

Mandina's near Canal and Carrollton; Katies in Mid-City; Deanie's, N.O. Food & Spirits, R&Os - all next to each other in Bucktown; Porter & Luke's on Metairie Rd, Bistro Orleans on W.Esplanade.

There’s absolutely no reason to go to Metairie for anything if you are staying in the heart of downtown. Am I rite bunchie

Katie’s is ok if you have picky eaters. Menu is large & maybe you can get a photo with celebrity chef Scot Craig. Otherwise you can pass.
