Is the message the media is portraying and why we aren’t ranked higher.

Should be the banner in football ops for the next month.

I'm confused because some teams seem to be counting their ranked wins based off of the opponent being ranked when they played. So don't we have a win against #18 Moo State?

Just be patient and let them keep moving the goalposts. Before yesterday it was “LSU can’t win on the road”

If you take the purple and gold glasses off it’s true. We’ve lost to the only 2 good teams we’ve played. Dominant over average teams but we still need that signature win. Win in November and the rest will take care of itself.

And the reason some of those teams are unranked is because we beat them.

Auburn would be ranked if they'd won yesterday and Moo U would be ranked if their game against us hadn't happened yet.

The media is a week by week basis.
Moo State is not the same without KT1

I mean do we snivel about not having Whit or Green for the UK game?

OU is gonna be hard. I can see them being a wounded animal. Trying out a new QB at the end.

I am an idiot. We don’t play OU.

They should have won those games. They didn’t. They should be salty. Win and other people’s opinions don’t matter so much.

How about they look at the top team’s unranked losses!

At end of year LSU’s schedule is way more impressive than majority of teams in top ten

No not really. Bama is 6 spots ahead of Tennessee despite losing to them & both teams having two losses.

The polls are so fricked up at this point that I wouldn't place any value on any metric of top 25 wins

Well that’s just silliness.

There’s a whole lot of parity in CFB right now and the sport is clearly lacking a great team - meaning any team (or even 2-3 teams) that clearly stands above the rest.

And it’s fair.

Dear Lord, no. Just no. If that’s the main message you want to send to the team for a month, then you have no chance. You can play the “no respect” card every now and then,
but it is unsustainable as far as motivation.
And I don’t think that’s the mindset and culture Lane is trying to build. Worrying about what other people think. Outside motivation. Doesn’t last. It has to come from within. Motivation turns to discipline, then discipline to
habits, habits into routines, and it’s about stacking those.

Lane said he told the team before the State game—“we cannot lose this game” for the 1st time in his career. I think the focus needs to be shortened these next 2 weeks. At least.
“We cannot lose this game.” “We cannot lose this week.” “We cannot lose this day.” “We cannot lose this practice.” “We canton lose this session.” “We cannot lose this drill. “We cannot lose this play.” “We cannot lose this rep.” Etc…

Maybe too wordy for a banner, but could be condensed. But that’s the message. Gotta start with how proud he is and them and how they’ve focused the past 2nd weeks and rebounded after the UK loss. But nothing that’s happened before means shite now. Nothing that happens tomorrow means shite. Today is all that matters. This practice, this period, this rep.

And I think Lane and staff have been really good at managing the balance between the tough love and the buy-in the whole team seems to have. Everybody is trusting each other more and more. I think this is the message that’s sustainable.
