All of you rantards and ESPN need to leave the coaching to the HAT and just STFU...thank you,
I'd be happier if we had the hat on Miles head calling games instead of the man himself....

agreed. but to call someone hypocritical because their opinion doesn't mesh with yours is ridiculous...that was my point.

Historically....WHO CARES.
Typically, once you get to a certain level in sports, players are who they are. It's rare that someone's ability or skill level changes dramatically. I have to think the coaches know this and now it appears they've found a way where both JL and JJ are most effective. And I expect the tweaking to continue to the point where JL ultimately gets at least 75% of the snaps (I hope). But I would also be scared if JL was handed the keys with 100% of the offense on his shoulders. Maybe he's ready for that and would be a huge success. I just have doubts based on past performance. And also the current results show that he's doing pretty good in the share the load system.

If you are talking about the NFL then maybe.. Hell even then most players improve from their rookie seasons.
However you are talking about a player that was a freshman and is now a junior. Thats typically the most dramatic changes in many players careers. Or maybe we should bench Nevis because he wasnt that great as a frosh.
Do you recall how Rohan played as a freshman?

I agree he has not been a very good runner for the most part. In fact I've complained about that for a long time. But for some reason, now that Lee is in the mix, JJ has run much more effectively the last couple weeks. I think his run/pass ability at least forces defenses to prepare for that, and that's a good thing for LSU. And unless JL has proven he's flat out a #1 QB, then I have no problem with the coaches continuing to use JJ in a more and more limited role.

In short, I have no idea why he chooses to start JJ. I would like to see Lee get at least 75% of the snaps when we go to Auburn (no telling what happens this week because it is McNeese). The case can be made that JL is better coming off the bench. It is also pretty evident who moves the offense better.

You cannot include UT game in JJ's running because for all we know Lee was not going to play. He didnt see the field until JJ threw his 2nd INT.
His 80 yard run was prior to Lee.
Seriously what more can the kid possibly do?
In what really amounts to ONE full game
Lee has thrown for 330 yards completed a Drew Brees like 75% of his passes 2 TD 1 Int with a QB rating of 165
With half a game played at The Swamp!
Not to mention the fact that he lead the team on TWO game winning drives in the only two games he really saw any action. Does he need to walk on water too?

I think he has a walk on water test before being elevated ahead of JJ on the depth chart. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

First of all, JL was a redshirt freshman that first year and he was very average at best. Then he lost his job to another freshman who has totally regressed over time (never was very good to begin with IMO). JL did get a start last year against La Tech, played the whole game and was horrible. That was just last year, as a redshirt sophomore (3 years in an SEC program). I agree that JL is a WAY better QB than JJ. But I don't think he's good enough for me to feel confident handing over the entire team/season to him. Nothing wrong with trying to get solid play from both guys without putting the entire weight of the world on either one, esp when the 2 guys offer completely different skill sets.

Our coach is a moron. End of story. Let's just waste our first series against each opponent. It amazes me how incompetent a person can be and maintain his job.

But tons of room for them on the Rant it seems.
I personally would have no problem if Lee got all or most of the snaps from here on out. On the other hand I am much more inclined to trust in Miles opinion of what gives us the chance to win more games than the posters on here. Many just seem to have a hatred of Jefferson. Whatever their reaons for that are is up to them but you can see it dripping off a lot of the posts on the subject.
My personal guess of Miles thought process is this:
First, Miles knows he only has two scholorship QB's and it is best not to shot the confidence of either in case the other gets hurt.
Second, at the beginning of the year I think Miles was not convinced that Lee had turned the corner. The games he played in last year (primarily Bama and La Tech) and even the spring game were not clear indicators that he had overcome the problems he had from '08. But I think he was impressed with how Lee was obviously maturing.
Third, I think he then started putting Lee in a little at a time to see where he was. His playing time seems to have increased incrementally over the last 3 games or so.
Fourth, Lee has done very well. Jefferson continued struggling until the last game where I think he stats improved.
Fifth, I think Miles has been very impressed at Lee's mental toughness in overcoming the past. He has been pretty effusive in praising him this past week. I think he intends to ratchet up his playing time from week to week but not to get rid of Jefferson.
Sixth, I think Miles really does feel that JJ's abilities does indeed open things up more for Ridley in the running game. And I don't think he feels that instituting a whole new scenario putting RS or Ware or Ford or someone else as the "running" quarterback would be a particulary a good thing to do in the middle of a heretofore undefeated season with the meat of the SEC schedule comming up.
Of course, I could be 100% wrong on all of these things. But that's my best guess at the decision making process.

So JJ is not as good, confident, or mature as JL??? That's our starting QB! I know you are not saying you agree with it, I just am incapable of understanding why this is still going on. What does JL have left to prove? What other bad things does JJ have to do? Yes he was improved against UF, but he still had 1 (should have been 2) picks, a worse comp %, less yards, less scoring drives, and less yards than JL despite more plays. People say he might not be able to handle the starting position. To be honest, I think the longer this goes on and JL continues to get frustrated watching on the sideline (you can see it in his face), the worse this could hurt his psyche. And it is not even as much the fact that JJ starts as it is the fact that he gets more snaps than Lee that bothers everyone. I can stomach this for the Mcneese game, but if JL doesn't get 75-80% of the snaps against AU and going forward and we lose one of those games because of JJ, there will be a lot of VERY unhappy tiger fans. This season has too much going to continue to play this game of catering to JJ.

I see nothing that leads me to believe Lee will get 75% of the snaps. I'll believe it when I see it.
He deserves it, certainly.

If Lee doesnt get the majority of the snaps at Auburn, we probably lose.
Their run d is almost as good as ours. Their passing D sucks.
This game has Lee written all over it.
Last night at TJ Ribs, Miles said he uses the QB based on game situations.
If hes being telling the truth, if JJ goes 3 and out on the first series because their D stops the run/option, we should see Lee the rest of the game.
...but we wont. Im afraid he'll keep forcing JJ, which puts a lot of pressure on our D becuase it keeps the game close, where one mistake could be the differece.
it almost was last week.

Does your crystal ball say if we win or lose? I'd like to make some money.

thats why i said IF JJ goes 3 and out. And we have no reason to think JJ wont get the majority of the drives. He has in every game thus far.
If i was that good with my crystal ball, id be sitting somewhere on a caribbean beach right now with a cold beer in my hand after winning the powerball about 10 times.
