maybe they want to see JJ against the inferior opponent and then make a decision based on how he plays against the weakest defense that we've seen this year.

Perhaps if Lee starts, he will get the majority, and JJ will come in occasionally.

I think thats how it should be.

I love how people argue against success. Don't worry, Lee will play a lot going forward.

I have no problem with JJ starting..

However that fact that JJ got 2x as many snaps as Lee in the last game even after throwing a pick is just plain stupid.

Lee is never going to start until JJ loses a game for us

Not true at all. I think it was 36 to 35 snaps.

We dominated Florida on the road. If not for 2 ST breakdowns, we win going away in what ends up looking like one of the most impressive wins in a long time. I'm all for bitching and complaining, but there really is nothing to bitch about right now.

We do look silly for bitching, but i think its justified to an extent. Apparently ESPN agrees, otherwise it wouldnt have been their lead story on whos starting for LSU this week.

Even they realize there's a QB controvery down here.

Miles keeps starting the guy who continues to make mistakes over the guy who wins the games.

not a good indicator IMO. JL had sustained drives but JJ started more

Who the frick cares what ESPN thinks?? They are in the business to get ratings...controversary gets ratings. That doesn't mean they're "right". C'mon man.

Can't wait for that third and long play against Auburn. I wonder where Jefferson will throw.

Got a great feeling drag route, oh wait picked off.

What game were you watching?

It was 41 snaps JJ

29 snaps Lee

Feel free to look at the play by play to figure it out yourself.

ONLY reason Lee had even 29 snaps was due to the last drive when he got 9 plays in in the final 2.5 min Prior to that it was 41-20. So JJ played in the vast majority of the game for our offense prior to the last 2 minutes.

I agree.

Miles is hedging his bets. Keep JJ focused, only let him do what works best for him, then do likewise as a change of pace with JLee. JLee seems ok with it, I doubt JJ would react the same way. We WILL need both before the season ends. CoachemupMiles.

Third and long with JJ or JL is a recipe for disaster. NEWSFLASH: We're not great at QB this year. But the combo of JL and JJ is serviceable enough when combined with the best defense in the nation, best kicker in the nation, best KR in the nation and very good weapons at RB, WR and TE. Sit back and enjoy this season. Our coach has a want for championships. Get on board.

Did you also just forget about the INT that lead to one of Fla's TDs??

One QB threw for almost a perfect efficiency rating and he playes MUCH less than the QB that threw an Int that was returned 47 yards and lead to points.

Im ok with both playing but why not start Lee and play JJ during the games?

quote:

If LSU is a 2 QB team, I don't understand the hysteria over who starts. I'm more concerned in who's finishing which in the last 2 games has been Lee.

The hysteria is equally as absurd as the coach who punishes a player by not starting him but he's in on the 2nd series.

Let me clarify. i would think it makes the most sense to start JL and have him play most of the game and have JJ in on certain goal line situations.

Obviously Lester is going to give them split time the whole game and I've see enough off JJ.

What story is there to the guy who has been your starter since day 1?

We have one QB that would be #13 in the nation with his QB rating.. But he has been sitting on the bench for less than 75% of our games so he is not eligible.

Miles has been talking about getting JJ's passing game back on track. IMO, this is the last chance to do it. If he comes up with another performance like the past few games in terms of passing, I would hope that seals the deal for JL getting 75% of the snaps.

Nope. And I haven't forgotten about the INTs JJ has thrown earlier this year or all the INTs JL has thrown.

Did you forget about the rushing TDs one QB has contributed? They both have a role now. That's a good thing.

Tired of hearing that statement. Russell Shepard, Spencer Ware, Rueben Randle could all execute what Jefferson does. There is no reason to be playing JJ outside of the redzone. Locks on to one receiver and doesn't read a defense well. He should be the back up. Please spare me that we run the ball better when Jefferson is in. The only reason that is the case is because Lee is in there on obvious passing situations. Why you ask? Because Jefferson is the worst QB in the SEC (FACT btw. go look at the stats). No reason he should be on the field for a top 10 team.

-Int against WV
-Int against Tenn
-Int against Florida (without which game isn't close)
