I doubt JJ would react the same

So sense JJ is a crybaby we should give him meaningful snaps? Brilliant!

I just don't think the LSU coaching staff would get gimicky enough and risk those guys throwing the ball.

Did I really just read this??

Not gimicky enough to let a non QB throw the ball but gimicky enough to let your punter toss a ball over his shoulder with the game on the line with hopes that your FG kicker picks up the first down?? HUH?

heres my question: why start JJ?

The only way to know that answer is to be in the locker room and in the practice and game prep leading up to Saturdays. My guess is that perhaps it takes pressure off JLee, and also gives us the run-first conservative look that our coaches apparently want when starting games. I think we'd all agree JLee has played his best ever now that he's coming in off the bench. Why change that?

Yea because our offense has been so potent the last couple of years.

Give me a break. Teams across the country do this all the time. Why don't you watch a few games now and then. The most important thing is to get the ball in the hands of your athletes. And yes they can throw the ball 10 yards. Good lord.

I think most agree.. Doesnt matter who starts.. But it just doesnt make sense that Lee is the situational QB while JJ is in the majority of the time. JJ got 67% of the snaps prior to the last 2 min. And 59% of the snaps as a whole despite forgetting 1 play at the line and blowing another play but getting lucky enough to score and throwing an int that lead to 7 points for Florida.

Most of us just think that Lee should get the majority of the snaps and not have to save the team with the game on the line.

So you don't understand the difference between a once a year, surprise fake FG that is practiced every day in preparation for that one time perfect moment and letting RB's/WR's/DBs or whoever start throwing passes from standard offenseive sets??

Good call BobBouche. I love the people that don't have a coherent response so they cop out and go "When have you ever coached?"

It's because they know they have nothing to bring to the table.

b/c JJ digs us into a hole, and lee has to bail us out everytime. you do realize we dont win the last 2 games without lee, right? i dont understand the mentality of "oh, atleast we are winning." we are winning inspite of JJ, not b.c of him

can lee not hand the ball off???!?!??! i understand pounding the football and prefer it too. i dont completely trust lee to go out there and peyton manning it up. but i think its stupid to put lee in there and go 4-5 wide and sling it. put lee under center the whole game. pound the rock. make safe throws, play action

Its like the 6th man in Basketball that guy at times is the most talented but he just does not do well starting and just needs the pressure off and comes off the bench.

FALSE.

The sixth man is usually more talented because when you run SUBSTITUTIONS, as happens in basketball, you don't want a drop off in talent on the floor.

Now back to your hole.

And I expect this to become the case. We just need to wait and see. But if Miles says JJ will start against McNeese, when we're currently undefeatd, why scream and shout?

Les can't start Lee and let the offense explode. At some point Les needs to show that he can coach a winner despite the offense. This allows him to get Crowton the frick out of town while keeping his own job safe. If the offense explodes Miles looks good as coach but looks like a buffoon if he fires Crowton.

So Les needs to win close with average offense to justify the coming ax for Crowton.

Don't you see the 'want' in that logic?

But we havent tried it even once for the once a year, suprise RB pass. When you have one of your WRs as a former QB you think you would see it happen at least once..

of course he can...but defenses don't have to worry about him faking and running though.

And obviously we don't win the last 2 games without Lee. We also might not win without JJ either. I just think neither QB is good enough to be in there 100% of the time with all the pressure on his shoulders, and the coaching staff is now figuring out the best way to use both. That's a good thing.

At least 2 WRs and 1 RB were high school QBs. That's nothing unusual however. Many high schools just put the best athlete at QB so he can touch the ball more.

I understand your point, however, as Shep was a highly touted high school qb.

you're right...drives that end in punts and multiple turnovers are crucial for victory

its not like JJ is really effective running. he does run it, but not where people are scared. i know if im a DC, i would prefer JJ run the ball over a RB

lee has scored 1/2 the points with 33% of the snaps(last 2 games). the offense is significantly better with lee. its obvious. why cant he make the switch and reward the better QB?
