Sloan was holding the offense back SOME. The playcalling was better last night. Screens and quicker passes were discovered by Atkins but the OL is still the OL. The red zone impotence is still the red zone impotence. The lack of a pass rush by just 4 DL is still a huge problem. Too many penalties is still a problem. I have always thought LSU played hard but eventually execution and coaching to improve the deficiencies are major issues.

You just traded BK & Sloan for Wilson & Atkins. It's like throwing out a gallon of spoiled regular WHITE milk for a gallon of spoiled CHOCOLATE milk. It's still rancid and not drinkable! This entire Offensive Staff needs to go after the season. (Maybe move FW into an Administrative position) Hankton is just as bad as Davis; he has no utter clue on how to coach his athletes to focus-concentrate and catch the fricking football. Sylvester Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda been long gone. Woodward was protecting him from the axe and now he's being protected by Ausberry & Wilson. C-W-S had X-LSU Pro-Bowl OL's Mawae & Whitworth come in to finish the season. All of their OL experience could have "Possibly" made some kind of minor improvent, but you know, it be almost impossible to transform Chicken Shite into Chicken Salad without an Alchemy Magician.

Cause it’s the middle of the year. They’re not going to leave the OL without a coach. Not much they can do mid season there

The offense is terrible and 100% of the blame should be on Kelly. He hired Sloan, brought in Davis, and the o-line is the problem with the offense. Last year we scored, this year we cannot. What's the main difference? O-line.

Don't have to worry about Atkins calling anything significant here moving forward. He was in over his head last night. No feel for the game at all. When defense is jailbreaking aggressive on your screens you fake it and throw it over the top. Simple concepts. After about the 20th time of them killing the quick screen he finally caught on.

That offense was all Kelly and Sloan. You can’t change philosophy, lingo, assignments, technique, etc in a week.
