Over Chris Jackson? And "easily"? Are you 16 years old?

I’m just glad you have calmed down from a month ago after the Houston game when I told you to be patient and you told me the NCAA tournament prospects were almost gone and it was time to start “ questioning Wade’s coaching “. By the way, since I told you that, LSU hasn’t lost. Remain calm.

Yeah, he is a franchise player. Very good.

I love Waters. I saw Pete play a ton of times in college and in the pros. In the pros, it was against a lot better competition with better teammates.
In 72/3 he averaged 27+ 5+ assists, shot 44% from the field and 83% from the FT line. All Without a 3pt line...
There were zero players with the talent level on his team besides him like Waters had.
Pete was in a different class because he could have and would have averaged 10+ assists and 40+ pts per game in college had he had better teammates and a 3 pt line without any question in my mind.
By the way - Waters would be called for carrying or palming the ball on every other possession. The rules are way more relaxed now. Pete did all this at 6’5”. He would have owned someone like Waters TBH.
Stats can be misleading.

Point being, BOTH were great players. But one is vilified by LSU fans and the other is revered. They should both be recognized as probably the two best players at LSU in the last 10 years
Except ya know, one wants to be at LSU and is running a 1st place SEC program. Same guy also doesn't have a documentary crew following him into the shitter.

At that time they absolutely weren't playing like a tournament team and they had just missed on another opportunity for a signature win. I never said the NCAAT prospects were gone, just that if they didn't start playing better defense, they were going to have a very thin margin for error in SEC play. That was true
The defense has been better (particularly last week), but is still an Achilles heel, as it was last season. It showed again up last night by Wade's own admission.
I think it's fair to question the defensive approach of the HC when that aspect of the game remains the consistent weak spot. That doesn't mean I want Wade fired or even think he's a bad coach. But just understanding the constant turnover in college basketball, I'd hate to see this particular team not live up to their potential. Right now the offense is almost Final Four level good. If they could just bring some consistency to the defensive end then this team could be a REAL threat in March.

I get it. You want it all NOW. January 24. Like you wanted it all on Dec 13. Don't mind me, I'll just keep noting the amazing improvement after years in the wilderness,-- I'm just enjoying the ride, not deconstructing their every weakness and wallowing in it.

My statement was directed toward Thornton being better than Simmons or Waters. Not C.J. Relax bruv

ackson was more of a scorer. He averaged 4.1 and 3.2 assists and 1.7 and 1.6 steals a game. Points were 30 and 28.
ETA Also 82% and 91% FT, 49% and 46% FG, 39% and 36% 3P.

1. Chris Jackson - viewed as America hater for being (still is) and acting American
2. Ben Simmons - cause he left us and we didn't make the tournament (all his fault)
3. Tremont Waters - went from preseason Prince to "he shouldn't even start" within a few weeks.

That's not to take anything away from Waters, but come on, man...most would never argue that Pete wasn't the best PG in LSU history. But to say Chris Jackson, Ben Simmons, or even Waters aren't in the conversation is stupid.

I love me some M. Thornton, but having an elite PG like Waters or Simmons is more impactful overall.

He averaged 2 assists per game. Waters has 6 and is one of the top in the nation in steals.

Tiger Ree: Do you realize that Pistol Pete played for LSU?
You may not be old enough, but if not, please you tube him & enjoy watching the best there ever was.
