No one wants to hear it but the only reason this is happening…

is because of an absolutely ridiculous FBI probe that made no sense and was a waste of your tax dollars. Even the harshest critics of the coaches will tell you the charges against Christian Dawkins and others were garbage and the wiretaps and extreme measures taken to try and prosecute these people were extreme and unnecessary. Wade was pretty unlucky to be swept up in a federal wiretap that had nothing to do with him and if that didn’t happen no one would know anything about any of this stuff.
I get it… he was sloppy, extremely aggressive and over the top going after talent, etc. This isn’t a place like Kentucky or Kansas or North Carolina or Duke with a million different avenues to get money to players. Wade was building this from the ground up and clearly wasn’t going to accept anything less than a massively talented roster.
He got busted. It sucks.

Not popular opinion but I agree. Without FBI stepping in nothing would have ever happened. He was sloppy but incredibly unlucky.

It is absurd that the FBI spent millions of dollars on this investigation.
Even if what Dawkins, et al. did was a crime - which I still disagree with - there was no victim to the crime. The excuse that the victim is the federal government because it caused scholarships to be given to athletes who were ineligible is completely ridiculous. If this is the case, the FBI needs to prosecute anyone who gives any benefit to a college athlete that is an NCAA violation.
Why was one shoe company target and not the others?

Kinda agree we had a coach that had the chance to turn into a 10/15 year plus guy here.
If he could have

The first thing I thought of after watching the documentary was

That’s how it started and was the reason the NCAA came around. If that was it Wade would still be coaching at LSU. The other dumb things he did that have come out is the reason he was fired.
