This quote really troubled me; i get that the
I-form was overused under Miles, but it doesn't make any sense to completely abandon it.

One reason being that we have two really good fullbacks - Moore has been one of the best for a couple of years now, and Mouton made great strides in 2016. Kinda felt like a slap in the face to them as well as throwing the baby out with the bath water.

That position group is about to get used way more than they used to. Why do you care what they're called? Fullback, h-back, who cares? Sometimes they'll line up in the backfield, sometimes they'll motion out, sometimes they'll line up at the end of the line. They'll block, catch and run. Big deal.

Vernacular - Fullback, Halfback, Tailback are now used interchangeably.

Why is it

Quarterback
Fullback
Halfback

Shouldnt the halfback be in front? Inquiring minds....

No no, you've got it backwards. He calls back tail.

Yeah, let's see. You want to go out there and run into guys every play and catch a couple passes all season and when your college career is over so is your football career?

Or do you want to line up in a little bit different location run block, catch passes, pass block and in Canada's system get to carry the ball on sweeps and runs up the middle. And have a great shot at a future in the NFL?

If that's a slap in the face I'm sure Moore and Mouton would be willing to take a full on punch in the mouth.

H-back:
"The H-back often has to be versatile; as a backfield member, they can be lined up to act as a lead blocker on running plays. However, the H-back also fills the roles of a traditional tight end, catching passes over the middle and pass blocking when needed."

Hell with Canada even the offensive linemen get to run the ball. Run it for touchdowns at that.

I guess I misinterpreted the comment - it seemed like he was saying that our guys who have been fullbacks have no place in the new offense.

Think it's just new place in the new offense, but mainly just different terminology.

They will practice with the TEs not just halfbacks. They will be used as the hybrid, H-back.

If it makes you feel better: in a scrimmage I watched ducre lined up to lead block then slipped opposite field on stretch play action and caught a TD. Doesn't matter what we label them

Why are you trying to tell Coach O how to do his job? Does he come down to McDonalds and give you shite over the way you cook the fries?
