Whomever the coaching staff chooses to start, I look forward to the play of that QB. I'm happy with either QB, and I'll let the professionals who see them practice every day make the decision about who plays.

It's never been about who they start. I don't care who STARTS. It's whether they're willing to make a change should things go caca for the starter. We had this discussion in another thread. The odds appear to be against this notion.

They had a willingness to make a change in at least three games: MSU, NMSU, and Auburn.

After Harris got injured in the Auburn game, they may have had a willingness to make a change, but they didn't really have the ability to make a change.

Jennings showed a lot of improvement in the spring game. Harris showed a lot of improvement in the spring game.
It simply amazes me how people actually use the spring game as a basis to judge performance. The QB's knew in advance they were "hands-off".

Ohhhhh. Can't wait till we see how the QBs perform. No charges is a bunch of crap. Hold them responsible for their actions. Bunch of thugs. Gives LSU football a bad name....LOL

Mettenberger wasn't ready to play on 1/9

What about 11/5/11 made you think Lee was the quarterback better equipped to beat Alabama?

Lee had a bad game against Bama, I fully acknowledge that. But he had a good year otherwise.

And on 1/9/12, JJ clearly wasn't getting it done. We needed to try something (anything!) to generate a spark. Bringing in Lee was the thing to do. Would it have worked? Maybe not, but we should've tried.

Instead, we kept our pilot at the controls and drove the plane straight into the ground.

This little factoid always seems to get swept under the rug when trying to make sense out of 1/9/12. Lee carried the water for most of the year. Did the "one strike and you're out" rule only apply to Lee?? It appears that it did.

You act as though this strategy hadn't won us several games earlier in the year...

Oregon: Halftime Score 16 - 13, Passing Stats 7/14 54 yards TD
Oregon: End Score: 40 - 27

UK: Halftime Score 14 - 0, Passing Stats 5/11 73 yards
UK End Score 35 - 7

Alabama: Halftime Score 3 - 3, Passing Stats 5/11 56 yards INT
Alabama: End Score 9-6

Arkansas: Halftime Score 21-14, Passing Stats 12/16 126 yards TD (4/5 66 yards on final drive)
Arkansas: End Score 41 - 17

Georgia: Halftime Score 0 - 10, Passing Stats 2/8 7 yards
Georgia: End Score 42 - 10

Chilge: if you're honesty arguing that we had a shot of coming back on 1/9/12 with JJ still at QB, then there's no hope for you.

One of the most horrific offensive performances, perhaps in LSU history, with a NC on the line, and you're arguing to just keep plodding along with no change??? Good god, man!!

IF ONLY Harris or Jennings were Jefferson (or even Lee for that matter ) 2.0 we would be in good shape at the QB position for 2015. I think they have the talent to surpass Lee/Jefferson in 2015. The future is very bright for this tiger team.

getting Bain back is a huge plus for our d line depth. Can play DT or DE. Very solid player. Very excited to get Thomas back also. Playmaker in the mold of Tyrone Mathieu (maybe not at that level but still he is a very disruptive player to opposing offenses). Add in Jennings and this just helped a great deal with quality talent and depth.

and you're argueing to put in Lee against one of the most aggressive hard hitting defenses in college football history? Holy shite man. Lee was a very good QB but no way could he handle that kind of defense. If you wanted to make changes just to make changes, why not put in the second string o-line as well?

Dude do you even know what happened? None of the three players that were suspended did anything that would consider them a "thug". That's why the people who are professionals at this aren't charging them.

You sir, are an idiot.

So your answer is just keep going with JJ, which CLEARLY wasn't working. No use trying to find a spark or change momentum in some way. Just settle for second place. Got it. Wonderful attitude.

Miles was clearly expecting the spark to come from Mathieu or Claiborne or Brooks or Taylor, as it had all year.

Kevin Norwood just so happened to be a goddamn spark plug in that game.

I agree that les needed to throw something different at Bama and I would have had a package ready for Lee. But I can understand Les sticking with JJ. Coaches at all levels stick with their starter through bad performances.
