My Sprints phone works fine. No issues with voice, data or text while at LSU. It worked perfectly even for the Alabama game.

I never have a problem with AT&T in the stadium.

I got texts at all the games I've been to. I don't even try to talk with all the crowd noise.

At&t told me that they purchased alot of Alltel's towers and that their reception should improve.

At&t and Verizon are the 2 largest telecommunications companies in America. The 3rd largest is CenturyLink out of Monroe, but they no longer have cell service(sold it to Alltel).

Alltel = CDMA

AT&T = GSM

Same at Bryant Denny. I think it is the huge unflux of people that overloads the tower or something. My phone will work fine in that area until the crowd begins to arrive and throughout the game. A couple of hours after the game, back to normal. It pisses me off because I would like to text photos and post on here during the game and I can't if I am at the game.

There's that, and Verizon bought out Alltel.

I don't work on these towers, but what do towers have to do with modems/ converters? I would think towers are needed to broadcast the signal, and AT&T could just switch out the equipment that provides the signal to broadcast. One can send out all types of different signals over a satellite antenna, don't see how a cell tower would be any different. They could have just purchased the infrastructure/ land because it was easier to convert and already in place, as opposed to building a new structure.

Again, I don't work on these; so, it may be integrated, but please explain.

Cellular One and Sun Com were the best.

Was there anybody left when the game was over?

I have AT&T and oddly enough I had decent data access for the Bama game but little no data service for the ULM game with the stadium half empty in the fourth quarter.

Have no problems with voice BTW.

i sit at the very top of tiger stadium's west upper, and find that i have no data service up there... i'm above all the concrete so that should be a non-issue.. however, i am there to enjoy the game, so i put my phone on airplane mode to conserve battery (so it doesn't constantly search for signal)...

i've been an at&t customer for many years, and never had a problem until Katrina... and I still drop calls.

I have AT&T and I've had decent reception from where I am in the band section, so....who knows.

We have AT&T, I had no service in the stadium on my "smart phone" but my 2 kids were able to text away on their blackberries. My phone didn't work until I got out past Walk Ons, but worked fine in the Touchdown village all day.
