My hope is this: we finish in Top 4 of the SEC and make the NCAA Ty and win 2 games there. LSU has not done all that since 2006. We COULD do better than that, but doing better that quickly (Wade Year Two) is not realistic.

For some odd reason, some people are incapable of following and cheering for more than one LSU sport at the same time. It's really a strange phenomenon.

It’s not inability to follow two things at once. I follow my high school, my undergrad, LSU, and Saints. What it is, is that other sports are frickig boring. Being awesome in them is cool and all. It really is. The most important thing winning in basketball or baseball can do, though, is to make LSU more attractive to football recruits.

I love playing the other sports. But watching them outside of having absolutely nothing to do is something some people do, and I don’t judge them for liking it because to each their own. But here’s your hypocrisy. You are baffled that someone wouldn’t like sports besides football, and I’m simply equally baffled anyone would like any other sport as much. If you’re not wrong for liking baseball and basketball, I’m not wrong for not liking them.

I know. There’s nothing wrong with an occasional off season baseball/basketball post for those who care enough about them to think of them in the middle of football season...even if it is still football season I guess. I’m just going to have a “get off my lawn” moment now and again. We’ll agree to disagree and to bitch at each other.

Well, here's the thing, if you hadn't come into a basketball thread (a sport you said you don't like to watch) trying to derail it by talking about football, your post wouldn't have been addressed. Basically, it was shitting on the basketball program and the best head coach on campus by implying we shouldn't have basketball threads during football season even though the seasons overlap.

I'm not baffled that you don't like basketball as much. I don't see the point of posting in this thread if you're not a fan of the basketball program.

No I’m not shitting on the coach or program. Im shitting in the sport. But yes I know what you’re saying and agree that I’m injecting myself. I’m being obnoxiously and purposefully contrarian. It’s a douchey move. I at once apologize and don’t care at the same time. Hope the kids do well this year, though. Nothing against them or them enjoying the sport, just that the sport is that popular. Also, Dave aranda is the best coach, just to get one more in haha

Well said sir. What's funny is that all of these "anti-basketball/football is all that matters" hypocrites will be jumping on the bandwagon when the Pmac starts selling out.

It's a good point. LSU is lucky to have both and I hope somehow both are here for a long time to come.

According to certain rant posters, compete for championships or fire Wade. No excuses. 30 wins or fire him.

Well he's competing so there's a reason he hasn't been fired...

If you find it boring, that's all well and good, stick to discussions of sports you don't find boring. Pretty simple. Many of us don't and are pretty excited.
