Even though I don't hate Saban like most, many LSU fans don't like him because he lied about leaving here, and lied about leaving Miami to go to one of the teams that had beaten us pretty consistently the last 30 years.

Evereyone knows thats not the case. NS had been gone for years when lsu won its last title.

We hate Bama and we are still lovesick over Saban so its just a lethal combination. You know how insecure we are over here in BR.

Oh, and very few LSU fans openly admit to hating Saban even though we almost all do. We did burn him in effigy last year, so that's gotta say something about the mindset of the fans.

Nick Saban was gone for two seasons. His last season was 2004, then he coached the Dolphins for 2005 and 2006. He announced that he had taken the Bama job the morning we were playing Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl in January 2007. Then we won the BCS title in the 2007 season.

Did Spurrier give you a story of his dad, working at the gas station, and a new job offer? Of how you needed to stay at the present job? And so on?
Saban feed some primo-crapp-o-la to the LSU media and fan base. Leaving on Xmas day in the manner he did was not helpful either.
Plus, he hammered (reportedly) the local media and administration pretty hard. I think both of them like to keep the negative feelings going more than any others.
That is what many LSU fans have problems with. I don't. Saban did he work here well.
