Nick Saban claiming he’s done with coaching but let’s remember what the man has said….

Nick Saban in 2006…”I guess I’m just gonna have to say it, I’m not going to be the Alabama coach.”
Nick Saban in 2005…Also told LSU players he wasn’t going to Miami either right before their bowl game.

He’s in his mid 70s.
He’s done with coaching

Not sure why LSU fans are so excited about landing a 74 year-old coach. He'd be gone in a few years and we'd be in the same predicament all over again

Before the know it alls in here come for me…say what you want the man flip flops and says one things then does another. People like that don’t change. Do I think he’s coming to LSU? No. Do I think there’s a small possibility that he could? Absolutely

Maybe so but maybe not.

I’m not, and don’t think that he comes back, but I do think it’s very possible.

I’m still amazed at the amount of people like you who can’t see the difference between a hungry 50 something year old coach trying to create a legacy, and a 74 year old retired coach who has solidified his claim as the GOAT. I just don’t understand how people can’t see the difference.

Ok, so then do you think say in 2020 if another NFL team had come calling that he would have left? Because the last time it happened he did and according to you “people don’t change”. The answer is no, because people in fact do change, especially over such large timeframes. One of those men was a middle aged man trying to leave his mark, the other is an elderly retiree.

The Bama stuff is correct through.
ETA: Also, it was December 2004, not 2005. Skip allowed Saban to coach the bowl game, which was played on Jan 1, 2005.

He’s done. As he should be. Let it go.

Yeah it’s almost inconceivable he’d come back and these threads are kind of embarrassing

Age is just a number his genetic age could be much younger

Again I followed with a comment that I don’t think he’s coming back. I do think it’s a small possibility though. Get over yourself. You don’t know anymore than the next person. He certainly wouldn’t be the oldest coach to ever coach.

This is a very dumb analogy and not even a fair comparison. Comparing apples to oranges. He has said why he wouldn’t go back to the pros. He has however said more than once that he was leaving a certain place and left.

straight out of coachspeak 201, baw, when a coach denies he's going to leave or has any interest in leaving, he gone

I don’t think Saban would do particularly well with the Louisiana governor’s meddling in the program currently.

You don’t remember things very well….they players arrive in the city they’re playing a week before they play the bowl game. I know because I was on a dance team for a halftime show in the Orange Bowl back then. M
Furthermore, he told the players he wasn’t leaving for Miami in the conference room at LSU before they got on the plane.
When they got to their hotel, the players went to their rooms. Saban went to the conference room of the hotel and got on national TV saying he was going to be the next HC for Miami Dolphins.
Go watch Justin Vincent’s interview with Jacques Doucet.

He wouldn’t and Saban would do like he did last time and tell them I’m not listening to the board of trustees, I’m not playing who they want me to play, I’m not listening to that BS…is basically what he said.
