CEH is 2 inches taller and 15 pounds heavier.

Which is why I said he'll be a better runner. Cohen is one of only a handful of backs who can actually line up split out and be effective though.

I think CEH will see a lot of those type of looks, given he goes to the right team.

You’ve never seen CEH split out wide? The guy excelled in what was by far the most advanced and pro like passing system college footballs ever seen. He’s more ready to step on the field day 1 than any other back in the draft. He could be in all 32 teams rotation tmrw.

Uhhh

My entire argument is that he can split out wide like Tarik Cohen does and be successful.

NFL network has CEH as their #2 RB and 32nd player overall in the draft.

Just based on how the draft usually works out, I think he’s a pretty safe bet to go in the top 75 or so.

I know I'm stating the obvious here...but this is one LSU player who's perfect in Saints scheme. Considering Kamara(sp?) looked like he wanted out of NO this past season and just didn't give a shite...they seriously should look at a guy like this.

My bad, thing is most backs split out wide now days. Cohen and CEH aren’t very similar at all, Cohen is a burner and he’s the smallest back in the league. CEH is just short but he’s built like a lot of backs, he’s not nearly as fast and is much heavier than Cohen. The only parallels between them can be draw to 90% of all rotation backs in the modern NFL.

I think so too, he does too many things well and he doesn’t take direct hits. NFL likes guys who are hard to hit.

He won't last that long.

A lot split out, not many of them do it at the level of Cohen or Kamara.

Their skill sets are very similar, in the passing game. Hence the reason teams are asking CEH to work out at WR.

CEH is going to start out his career as a rotational guy. He may eventually work his way into a starting role, but he's not going to be a bell cow in year one.

There aren't many RBs who can come out of college and be asked to do what teams are asking of CEH. Cohen is one of them.

How many 5’7” 207lb every down backs do you know?
I realize it was a different era, but Dalton Hilliard was a similar back (5'8", 196 lbs). I honestly think CEH could be an every down back. He can pass-block, run inside, outside, catch the ball, whatever is needed.

I’m not trying to disagree with most of what you’re saying but almost all of what you’re saying can be applied to pretty much any back in the league. I mean you can’t compare someone who hasn’t played in the NFL yet to someone who has in terms of production and that seems to be the only context you’re using to separate the players.

What? You think almost all backs can do what CEH and Cohen are capable of in the passing game?

Again, what?

I’m comparing how they will be utilized. Given the fact that teams want CEH to work out at receiver, it’s pretty logical to compare him to one of the best pass catching backs in the league who’s also used as a WR often.

That is unless you think he’s got a CMC or Kamara type skill set. That’s a bit of a stretch, and I don’t think it’s true. If you do, ok then.

Clyde and Cohen have some similarities in the pass game, but Clyde is a far better runner than Cohen. Way better at setting up his blocks, better vision, better at breaking first contact, etc.

Cohen is an impatient runner who tries to break everything outside if there isn’t a gaping hole in front of him. He’s a gadget player. Clyde is a running back.

I agree 100% and said as much earlier.

I think CEH is being viewed as someone who can be put into the Cohen role to exploit mismatches, while also being useful in the running game.

Saying he was a clone was probably a poor way to state it. I think he’s a better player than Cohen. I just think their roles will be very similar.

He’ll go in the 3rd. Great guy, great ball player, will have a good NFL career, but he’s a 3rd round pick.

I’m not trying to rip you dude I’m just saying that you’re comparing a tested commodity with one that hasn’t had a single sample. We don’t know how teams will use CEH for sure and we surely don’t know if it’ll be exactly how Cohen is used. In all probability they won’t be used nearly as similarly as you’re suggesting. Can they both catch? Yes but 99% of all NFL backs can so that’s not a qualifier. CEH was unique to college not the NFL. Your assumption is almost all staring and rotational backs are still 225lb guys when the current model is moving away from that and more toward CEH which is why he’s being valued more than you’re assuming.
