That's fair but that wasn't what this thread was about. Look I'm not overly excited about what Kelly's done here either but winning the West in year 1 with the roster he inherited is hardly the example to trash him for. And saying other coaches in the SEC are turning programs around faster is just wrong.
Kelly overachieved in years 1 and 2 considering the hand he was dealt. And he deserves a ton of credit for finding JD at ASU and turning him into a Heisman winner. But at some point the lack of talent on your roster is no longer an excuse and becomes the coaches fault. He absolutely needed to shore up the defense in the transfer portal and he failed. You can bash him for that but he does appear to be correcting it with the new staff and next recruiting class
