I don’t get the hype for Riser. He couldn’t handle being the head coach at LSU

I don’t get people saying canni either. It’s like they have no idea what’s going on around this athletic dept these days

Me either, if you’re replacing a HOF coach and you really think LSU is peak program, you don’t hire Riser.

Texas Tech is a legitimate program unlike what we have

He’s certainly brought the program to relevance, but that doesn’t make Tech a better job than LSU. Hell, 12 of 14 SEC schools are a better job than Tech. If he weren’t an alum, it would be a no-brainer that he’d leave.

Promote Alan Dunn

If being in great shape is needed to be a head coach his legs are in great shape walking back and forth to the mound so far.

We should make a list of coaches that won’t be the next baseball coach. Matt Riser, Andy Cannizaro, Blake Dean, Sully, Bianco. Lane Burroughs?

I’m going to let you in on a secret, our next baseball hire doesn’t need to be from Louisiana.

Mainieri is an overrated lil prick who doesn’t deserve the respect of his players or the base

I know he retired. But give Pat Casey a call. I know I will get laughter at this but call Corbin, Sullivan for sure. Would then pursue schlosnaggle. Then the head coach at Arkansas.

Maybe just someone who is not a complete a-hole that actually gets off his arse an watches kids play ball before they come to campus. I’ll settle for that.

Any reason why Mike Bianco is hardly ever mentioned here? Is there some bad blood between he and LSU?

Seems a no-brainer that a former player under Skip with loads of SEC experience should receive strong consideration.

he’s been at OM for 20 years and made it to Omaha once.

I think Riser is a damn good coach and he deserves a shot at a bigger school. I still don’t want him at LSU yet though.

If you think fans complain about hit and runs now...just imagine if Riser was the HC

Probably because getting a guy that has been in the SEC for forever and has never had any amount of post season success at all would not help our current situation

Before Bianco: 3 regional appearances from 1973 - 2000
Since 2000: 16 regional appearances; 6 super regionals

To have that type of success at Ole Miss says a lot to me about his coaching ability. The Most important thing to me is that he played under the best coach of all time!

First of all, dumb.

Secondly, despite 16 regional appearances and 6 Supers, he has made it to Omaha 1 time.

The next HC does not need to have any ties to LSU or Louisiana.
