Next LSU baseball coach

Who should be the next coach because Mainieri’s time is done.
Dan McDonnell would be a good replacement, but it’ll take some work to pull him from a place that he has done a good job of building.
Tim Tadlock would probably be a good option, but it’s going to be hard to take him from his alma mater.
Erik Bakich at Michigan is a very popular name. Michigan is in a really good spot right now because of him. He’s one of the bright young minds in the game right now.
Scott Brown, pitching coach at Vanderbilt would be a good candidate I think. He’s done amazing things at Vanderbilt for 9 years now, and may be ready to test out the head coaching world. LSU would be a pretty good spot for him to start at. Top pitching prospects would definitely want to play for him. Program would not fall under him, and we could become the top landing spot for pitchers in the college game with him as head coach.
Who else y’all got?

Tadlock
McDonell
Vitello
Godwin

It will be Nolan Cain or Nolan Cain will leave

If Nolan Cane decides to leave I will help pack his bags

I like Andy C however LSU has a sexual assault image right now.

Lots of teams are lining up to hire the high school coach

If we promote Nolan Cain, first of all this board would implode. And second of all we would win maybe 1 sec series

What former players would make a good head coach? I think Blake Dean is on his way to becoming a good head coach, but he is not ready to be the head coach at LSU right now. Still needs to coach for a few more years

Would be tough but not unprecedented. Baylor pulled Steve Rodriguez from his alma mater Pepperdine. Dave Serrano left Fullerton for Tennessee. Rice pulled their current coach (name escapes me) from Tennessee Tech where he had been the coach since he finished his playing career.
There is always going to be a ceiling at Texas Tech when you compare it to SEC baseball.

I’m not saying that it has to be a former player to be the next head coach, I was just trying to get some input on what former players could possibly be a good head coach
