We’ll see. The program is far from a dumpster fire though.

If we hire the right coach it shouldn’t be a problem. The thing is keeping BK now you’re gonna have to hire a new Offensive staff this year/next year. Then in a couple years possibly hiring a whole new coaching staff. They are gonna do this but it’s maddening that the proof has long been in the pudding. It was a bad hire at the start and if you have to reason that this is why it’s a good hire then it’s a bad hire.

Arizona St head coach Kenny Dillingham. He's very young (I think he is the youngest Power 4 HC ever or something close). He's a Norvell disciple. He always has a real good power run game and is the QB coach and has been the QB coach for his teams. He was there at Auburn as the OC/QB coach when Bo Nix had that freshman season which was the best season he had at Auburn. He turned Jordan Travis from a running QB into a dual threat. He ran for 200 a game at Auburn and ran for 200 a game at FSU and 178 a game another year at FSU. His Memphis teams had multiple future NFL RBs. One year they ran for over 4000 yards and 43 TDs. At Arizona St he has hit the ground running. Skattebo was his RB the last 2 years and is now in the NFL and he took an RB from USC who wasn't doing much and now he is on pace for 1200 yards this year.at over 6 yards a carry. His Arizona St team is averaging 200 rush yards a game and just beat Texas Tech.

Just imagine what he can do with LSU's talent at running back.

Kiffin can give us a solid 10 years but we turned him down twice so he won’t come now

Young and hungry doesn't mean they'll be a good HC.

I don’t think Kelly is “hungry” enough to fulfill his career with a national championship. I’m not taking anything away from his career as a whole because it is impressive and will most likely be in the HOF. However, I truly believe LSU’s next HC needs to be young and therefore extremely hungry. Kelly is so close to retirement and if you’ve ever worked in any industry with someone who’s close to retirement, you’ll know there’s a big drop-off in work ethic and care anymore for their profession. Hopefully LSU can find the money to get rid of BK and start over soon. Don’t think Kelly will get it done.

if you look at "industry" most CEOs are not young. How old are you saying? Is 55 young for you?

Dillingham is also at his dream job. He grew up in Scottsdale and went to ASU.

Dude ain't leaving. They will be a yearly contender in the big 12.

LSU needs to just take the guy from Tulane

I screamed Curt Cignetti 2 yrs ago when he took lowly JMU and placed them on the football map. I just hope he doesn’t end up in the SEC b/c he is gonna give us fits. The guy is a mercenary and molds his players to hurt the opposing team in a Sabanesque manner.

I guarantee you that Napier would have LSU looking more elite than BK has it looking and I am not a Napier guy.

Agree. A rich booster will think we lost two close SEC road games against top 10 and top 20 teams and had the ball with an opportunity to win and tie in each. And they will ask….you want me to pay $50M to fire that coach and have to guarantee another $100M? They will ask…..What coach will come here if those type of losses get you fired after averaging 9 regular season wins per year.

What’s his record without Pavia?

But it is part of his record. That’s like saying a team had 200 yard rushing, but half of that came on two long running plays. It counts.

It’s Vandy and he’s winning big time games, beating SEC teams now regularly. They didn’t do this with Cutler.

Will someone please explain to me the infatuation with Kiffin on this board?

He has a 4-16 record against top 10 teams and he’s never had Ole Miss sniff a divisional record let alone a conference title. His teams have great offenses but they are shite on defense.

Also, he makes just a bit less than Kelly so he’s not coming here for a 5 year $40m contract the board thinks is possible for some reason.

There is a ceiling at Arizona St. He'll never get the type of elite talent he needs to be a perrienial powerhouse. I think he's lived his dream. Now it's time to live his life. He csn become an all time great with LSU's talent. All the money he needs. All the amazing talent he could want.
