Did Saban have to fire his OC and DC in successive years for lack of performance.
Yes He did . he fired Major Applewhite ! OC ! because he was bringing the team down.g
I only count OC being fired by your post can you elaborate more on when the DC was fired?

Let's face it, if the Ryan Perilloux situation had not occurred
RP was the slotted starting QB, he had SEC pressure, action experience, and had worked in the LSU system over 2 yrs. Anyone not understanding the body blow his loss was to LSU football doesn't understand football in my opinion.
Having said that, Miles should have been better prepared to lose him given RP history with LSU and the QB's trying to replace RP should have been coached up better. There was no good reason, given the RP history here, that a coach going into his 4th yr should be playing in the SEC with QP's having NO game experience. imo

The program is EXACTLY where Saban left it in 2004--assuming we lose the Bowl game b/c he did(on a coaching gaff nonetheless). Chill out--you guys are no fun to be around.
Sometimes the truth is not fun. To say that the program is exactly where Saban left it is a damn joke.
What's the difference?
Players coached by Saban vs players coached by Miles. One maximizes the players' potential, the other completely relies on the players' talent.

Seriously, this is like trying to convince someone that Rosie O'Donnell is not a lesbian.

If firing your two primary assistants in successive years isn't a sign of decline, I don't know what is.
Wrong. It's a sign of a coach who's willing to fix what's broke. He did and defense has improved more than a little. He will and the offense will take off next year.

I work 5 blocks from Bryant-Denny and spend my days surrounded by "Saban Zombies" I wish I didn't have to encounter more of the same at "droppings"

RP started 2 games his whole career at LSU. 2 games.

Are you talking about Miles? Miles hasn't fired anyone. Didn't fire the guys last year, hasn't fired Crowton. Don't know if Miles has ever made changes intentionally.

As I recall, we had 3-4 blow outs in 07 and I would think one of them could have played a series to both gain some little experience and allow the staff a look see at their abilities in game mode.
I'm not saying it's an easy thing to do, but RP's problem following team rules or just putting him where he didn't need to be showed its head a number of times before the final straw fell. imo

I agree, Saban is given credit for doing something he didn't do which is make LSU a perennial power. I'm not sure Miles will get us there either but he has done better than Saban over the same time period.

Recruit like hell, fix some coahing problems and we're good
Rumor has it that the OL coach and OC will be back. Our line was terrible, both run blocking and pass blocking and the offense ranked 106th in the nation. There are your coaching problems, along with the head coach. Dosen't look like he is addressing the issues. 2010=more of the same. Look at your SEC record over the last two years and compare it to the previous two. We are in decline and no spin can make that go away. Wake up.

Look at 7-5, 3-5, 7th in the SEC, unranked, and the Peach bowl vs. 9-3, 5-3, 3rd in the SEC, ranked #14, and Cap. One bowl.

Mils is not mentioned in one single head coaching search or rumor- EVER.
Actually you are really wrong about this. Miles is in the rumor mill for the Dallas Cowboys job and there is still Michigan.

quote:This is true- Saban's success is as much to blame with out discontent in Tiger land with Miles, and this will really grow if by some chance Bama does win the BCS. Bama was not suppose to be as good this year w/ new QB, but look what happended. Meyer has been incredible @ Floria, but w/ Tebow gone next year, they may become more ripe for upsets in the future, we will see...
I would say the program is in a similar state as when Miles took over, the problem is, Bama has gone on a meteoric rise...so fans see this as a decline at LSU.
