Congrats to DJ. He's certainly earned it. I wish more athletes these days were like him. You never hear anything about him unless it's positive

That's a solid deal for both. AAV is low but he gets the years he wanted. His game should hold up those last couple years as well.

Not saying 6/90mil is small by any means, but it’s such a shame that he’s already 32 and missed out on the crazy long term contracts worth hundreds of millions.

He was by far my favorite player on the ‘09 team and all the teams he was on. I’ll never forget this one insane catch he made at the box on a heater smoked his way, jumped up for a mid air catch between the legs!

If my math is right that baw will make 47.5 cents every second for the next six years. Not bad. He could post on the OT for sure.

This is actually a heck of a deal for one of the best hitters in baseball. That's $15M/yr, Yankees originally offered a 1 year $19M deal to him.

Last year the top 2nd basemen made $29M (Altuve) and $24M (Cano) respectively in the 1/2 slots. I thought LaMahieu would be worth closer to $20M/yr at least.

This is chump change compared to some of the huge, quarter-BILLION+ contracts that some other players have signed.

ETA: LeMachine definitely deserves the money and long contract. He has been the best and most consistent player on the Yankees by far for the past 2 seasons.

Awesome. By my thirty second calculation he will make about $42k per day over the six years.

TOTALLY DESERVED

I know there are bigger contracts. I still don't know how there's that much market value there. telling me the numbers get bigger doesn't reduce the disbelief I have... it only makes it worse.

Yeah, I know $90 mil sounds astronomical to us, but that's a hell of a bargain for someone of his caliber, relative to market value. Maybe he needs a better agent?

As a Yankee fan I couldn’t be more ecstatic. I woke up at 7 today to use the bathroom, checked my phone, and then was too excited to go to sleep

Not too awfully bad for "Minimum Wages" for six years of playing baseball!
