There is ZERO doubt Wade played the recruiting game just like ALL of the big time HC's (Miller, Coach K, Self, Cal, Pitino, ALL of them). That's simply the cost of doing business in college basketball.
That said, clearly all they have is the conversation with Wade saying "strong arse offer" and a the statements of a convicted felon, getting paid for his story, giving his opinion as to what "strong arse offer" means. Dawkins is probably right, but his credibility is complete dogshit. If his testimony is the ONLY evidence of wrongdoing, then that isn't much to hang your hat on.

I am curious how the subject of the investigation managed to get copies of all these tapes to play. Weren't these acquired under warrant and therefore not for general public consumption?
If, for example, you are under investigation by the IRS and they discover by phone tap you (or an uninvolved third party) are cheating on your wife or some other sleazy but not illegal activity, that information is not released or otherwise available if not presented at the time of trial, right?
On a more partisan point, there appears to remain only the single actual tape of Wade describing having made a strong gas offer, and everything else is other people speculating about him. That, and indicting themselves regarding the offers they have themselves made

If this same exact scenario played out but insert Coach K's name instead of Will Wade, the Rant would want K tarred and feathered. But because he's our coach, he did nothing wrong.
