I lived in Birmingham and they open up a lot of parking for the Barons games - I'm sure they would do the same for the SEC tourney. Plus there a bunch of bars and restaurants nearby (walking distance) that would add to the atmosphere.

I admit I haven't been to the Zephyr's stadium or Nashville, so they may be better options.

Would love to see it rotate different SEC venues. Most stadiums in the SEC are large and nice enough to accommodate a tournament

This. LSU, South Carolina, and Arkansas for sure all have beautiful stadiums with high enough capacity. Just let schools bid on hosting every year.

I live in pensacola. The stadium is fantastic as it is right on pensacola bay. However, it only seats around 5k- too small I would assume.

Should move to the Barons new stadium in downtown Birmingham - great facility.

And it's in the SEC Office's, BAMA's and Auburn's backyards.

Conference tournaments for financially self sufficient sports should all by on rotation or a neutral field atleast.

CPM has been quoted as saying each yr the league's coaches have been polled bout keeping the tourney in Hoover or moving it and this year they were not polled. FWIW, he's said several times as well that the coaches like playing the tourney in Hoover.

I can understand the feeling of having it in a new place, but Hoover just runs the tournament so well since it is all they do. I'd interested to see how they handle RVs if it is in Memphis or Nashville. The SEC makes a lot of money on the RV passes in Hoover.

I've gone every year for 11 years and there have never been any issues.

Just get it the hell away from Alabama. Would be great to see it in NO except for the possibility of fans being murdered.

Memphis or Nashville should get the nod IMHO.

Because murders don't happen in Memphis... Last time i was there there were two murders in consecutive days within 5 blocks of that stadium.

ETA: We went to a game there, and yes it was a great stadium. When we came out two exists were blocks and a whole street because there was a shooting in the hotel across the street during the game. Asked an officer about it and he said 2nd in two days. Jut sayin'

The SEC offices are in Alabama, so is Hover. To think any other state will win the bid is being naïve.

I would like a rotation as well. Would be fun to take a trip to different locations every year for the tourney

Why? There are two SEC schools there. I'm cool with rotating and having Hoover as one of the rotating spots.

Maybe I'm ignorant but I don't recall hearing of too many murders down Airline in Metairie.

That would be great. I love Memphis (cue the haters). Plus it's a great park and a fairly easy drive right up 55.

The park is fantastic. Plenty of rooms close by. The only "downside" is finding a place to tailgate out in a parking lot. But there are ways around that.

Zephyr field isn't that great. The area sucks too.

Yeah but luckily you're in the heart of Downtown Memphis and can just go hit a bar on Main or Beale Street.
