There is a decent-sized LSU ex-patriot community suffering in Bham right now. This season has been a literal Godsend for them. I have received direct, 1st person accounts of this.

Is Baton Rouge not big enough to count? Seems odd it wouldn't make it.

Baton Rouge's population is much bigger than New Orleans, by far, so, they should be on that list.

That's not what drove this number. It was Bama fans wanting to see Clemson get their asses kicked. Those guys were worried about LSU, but not as worried as they were about Clemson. After that arse-whipping it might be a different story.

WWWWWWWWWHHHHHHAAAAATTTTTTT???????????? New Orleans population is 391,000...Baton Rouge is around 222,000. New Orleans gained almost 50,000 in the last several years continuing to recover from Katrina drop. Baton Rouge lost almost 10,000 as the resettlement of New Orleans continued. BTW, source is Wikipedia list of largest US cities.

This was the sentiment of many Bama fans on the SEC Rant. They don’t have any love for LSU, but they wanted Clemson taken down so that Clemson couldn’t lay claim to “best program in the nation.”

I’m sure they would have pulled for any other team facing Clemson, but the fact that it was their SEC West rival winning a Championship made the decision a little difficult. They may hate us, but they despise Clemson.

These are pretty much the markets that watch college football religiously, no matter the opponent.

I wouldn’t read anything into it.

There are a lot of us LSU alumni in Birmingham. A lot more than I thought when I moved here.
